You forget that a lot of the wheat and corn belt is purple country. So right there, we won't starve. Not to mention that even in a worse case scenario, we can still import food from overseas - especially the coastal areas.
Oh, I forgot. Liberal areas produce much of the high technology. So eventually, as your cell phones and computers run low on critical supplies, you'll have to revert back to land lines, and eventually rotary phones and AM radios.
Would you rather see the USA fail, over ever letting Donald Trump succeeding in his plan to Make America Great Again?
This has always been a great country. If you our anyone else think otherwise than maybe you should find another country to live in to be proud of. Trump is making our country worse. He has no idea what he is doing and this has put our country and government in turmoil. His tweeting has to stop. He has to stop bullying people when he doesn't get his way. He can't keep going after members of his own party or democrats either. This is unacceptable as a president. And he really needs to stop lying in order to stroke his ego. We are already failing under his leadership and I don't see him doing anything different to correct that in the next 3 and a half years.
All the rhetoric about Caesar’s ambition, the danger he had posed to the republic, suddenly seemed worthless. There was only the horror of violence, the shock of it, even to the men and women who had plotted it and carried it out.
You missed the point. The point is the general direction of the country, not any one specific person. Rome started out democratic, then moved toward a dictatorship. Am I saying Trump specifically is that person? No. Am I saying he kicks open the door to it by influencing our political and cultural climate, even if it may not be obvious for the next few decades. A very real possibility.

I think Somalia, Afghanistan, and Yemen suit his style - his love of dog-eat-dogism and his complaints about laws and regulations. Or if he prefers an overwhelmingly non-Islamic country, perhaps the eastern part of Ukraine. Any other failed state or breakdown of law and order I missed...I'll add that too.
