Don't be like that. It's uncalled for, and reduces you to the level of the people you are deriding. You are essentially shaming them for having no money.
It's not necessarily about money. There is a family a couple blocks over from us (this is not a poor neighborhood), whose front yard looks like a flea market. It's a nice enough house, but when I first moved here, I thought they were having a garage sale. That was four years ago. Of course, this behavior is not limited to people in the country, either...

That was kind of my whole point. Stereotypes are super fun for jokes. I've made many of them, and Avenue Q made a fortune making fun of us for them. Google Avenue Q when you have a minute.

In the end, we are all in this together.
I get that, but I had the impression that DD was shaming people for being slobs, not for being poor.
Of course, the whole "city people do this and country people do that" thing is absurd in the first place, I agree. Actually, the whole premise of this thread is absurd, when you get down to it. It's "really" American if Americans do it, and that covers a lot of territory.
If you don't live in and participate in rural American culture, how can you even call yourself American? Cold beer, cruising, mud runs, football, that's AMERICA!

Like others said, people don't really do cruising anymore.
And how can you leave off trucks, guns, camo, and bonfires? I suspect you are a fake. #themsfightinwords

I guess it's time to get that damn furriner outta the White House, eh?
All those big city urban elitists hate rural America. They think their urban utopias are the best and they insult people living outside it. Just look at the tons of posts by urban dwellers trashing on people living in rural America.
Ok, so the op says if you dont live in rural America you are not a real American. Your take from that is ......

*chuckles* Your point? Where do you live? Do you and Fordtrucks have drag races? Twice around Red Square?

A lot of those people as called farmers and you would starve if they didn't exist. Be glad that they are still around.
