Because if you work in a bank or at an accounting firm, you are required to wear sleeves whether you have tattoos or not.
And I am not playing coy. The person who first mentioned tattoos and piercings didn't specify what kind, she said they were all "lower class." Instead of taking issue with me, why not ask her to clarify her objections before defending her post?
Even at places that don't require a strict dress code, they would like for their employees to wear sleeves to cover up their tattoos.
Teachers don't have to wear long sleeves but they're required to wear sleeves if they have sleeve tats.
Yes, you're playing coy. You should know that not all banks or accounting offices require a strict dress code, many are business casual, but most would want you to cover up your tats.

No, actually, my post was prompted by the fact that when you started talking about people who hold high level financial jobs, I wondered how on earth anyone would know what they had inked on their arms because they would be wearing a suit.
And why don't you post pics of these blush-inducing haircuts that you refer to?
You can't just google stupid haircuts and see for yourself? You really need someone to tell you that people get dumb haircuts that might be inappropriate for work?
All the pot users I have known my entire adult life never moved onto harder drugs. Yes that is anecdotal but I have known and still know quite a few.
That's exactly my experience too.
People start with milk, and graduate to Dr. Pepper.
At that point, if they have the type of personality that is destined to do hard drugs, it doesn't matter if they graduate next to ice tea, beer, scotch, pot, or huffing Freon, they are still going to do hard drugs. Take any of those items out of the list and it wouldn't matter.
I know a great many cannabis users. Some are every day, some are once in a while, some have stopped, some it helps, some it hurts. NONE of them, over the last 40 years, have "graduated" to hard drugs.

If they had neck tats going up to their chin it'd be hard to cover up. If they had sleeve tats going all the way to their wrists, it'd be hard to cover up, even with sleeves. You'd know. Seriously, this coyness liberals have in order to dispel the average in favor of the outliers has gotten beyond the pale. You;d know if they had a lip ring or a nose ring or gauges because they're not going to work in ski masks! If they took them out, then you'd know their workplace told them it was inappropriate for work. Yes, and in 2017!
And it's also not difficult to know that while things have gotten far more lax that many people in the higher ranks still don't choose to get tatted up.

It shouldn't be hard for you to provide pics of haircuts you consider blush-inducing. I mean, you are the one who brought those words up in the first place.
I am for people to have their opinions regardless of how nutty it may sound to you or others. So I am not afraid of a left wing nut or a religious radical, unless either were actually trying to silence me. Why would you fear someone telling you you're going to hell?
To clarify, I never said that I was fearful of speech. I simply worry more about the behavior of religious zealots than I do folks who use marijuana.
Now maybe you can answer the question that was asked: why do you care what their salary is? Other than just being a pretentious person of course. What's in it for you?
Nothing is in it for me, just that people who choose not to get tatted up or pierced up or choose an exhibitionist style tend to ascend higher in the ranks of business, law, academia, etc etc etc, probably because they know that being an exhibitionist like that will hurt your chances. Why? Maybe there are other "pretentious" people like me in the higher ranks that thinks that exhibitionist style looks silly.
Why the heck are you guys having a completely off topic discussion about tattoos and piercings in the first place? This isn't left field it is the bowling alley next door to the park.

Why should I favor anyone over another? Why should I favor someone with no tattoos to someone who has sleeves, or vice versa? This is you picking the fight, no one else.
