Heartland has mainly GOP representation, which is the reason GOP controls both House and Senate, several terms running, with wonderful GOP Senate maps next 2 cycles.
Again with the coastal elites -- TRUMP IS A COASTAL ELITE. He is the perfect example of a coastal elite. All he knows is his life. He has never been poor, middle class, etc. He has never lived anywhere but in New York.

One nominee visited Wisconsin: Trump
One visited and talked about NAFTA affect on Rust Belt jobs: Trump
One elitist thought 2016 was a coronation like a queen: Clinton

What does that have to do with the fact that there are Democrats in the heart land and that they sit on the DNC ?????

There are some, but they are a distinct minority, a deficit which they cannot overcome elsewhere.
Dems will not regain control until they split Middle America vote-which means becoming mainstream again.
They did just that at one time. Their focus was economy, defense, education back then, not Transgender bathrooms or other fringe issues.

The number of Democrats who sit on the DNC does not change based on who wins an election. The same number of Democrats from those states still go to the DNC meetings in 2017 as they did in say 1964.
Im not sure if you are being obtuse simply because you are one of those "we won, you lost" types, or if you honestly dont understand.
the Democratic National Committee consists of the State party chair, Vice chair,(so 108 total including Guam, U.S. VI and so on), The chairman of the DGA and 2 other governors, the President of the College Dems, Chairman of the Democratic Mayors, President of Young Dems.
I think you get the point.
also
Democratic National Committee =/= Democratic National Convention, Maybe you are confusing the 2, as the second one does change every 4 years.

Bob is only a good debater because he uses strawmen and irrelevant points to frame the narrative
