I grew up on the beaches of San Diego and I truly miss it. For me it is going a bit too far left for my tastes. My folks moved out of it in 2015 and now have no family there. It is still a great place to visit.

I commend you on creating a solid thread.

Putting the Trickle Down Republicans in charge of California would just crater and destroy the economy, just like they did to Kansas. No thanks. California has the No. 1 most productive economy because it is Blue, not in spite of it.

Big difference being a tourist and actually living and working there. Working, middle class people and businesses are leaving in droves due to deteriorating quality of life, rising crime, bad roads, high taxes, high rents and house prices. Go to the city-date California thread and learn.

Born & raised in San Francisco and spent my first 38 years of life there. Beautiful state full of opportunity and scenic beauty. I had a pleasant life there but moved for love and now enjoy living in Austin, Texas. Miss the ocean and mountains but enjoy the prosperity that Texas offers. I love going home to visit and enjoying all the things I always have without the hefty COL that came with it.

Remember the dot com bubble? Remember the housing bubble?

California is becoming a feudal society with the elites and their slaves.

You could have just stopped when you hit the word "Zoo" but the addition of the fantasyland mentions is a nice touch for the touched.

It has a crazy well run economy that won't bust no matter how much conservatives say it will. It won't. BUT, that doesn't mean that the trend toward higher poverty and there being a gulf between classes won't grow.

California has a very healthy functional economy, but then again so do many uneven yet rich countries such as Mexico. I think that should be the crux of where people should at least take a sober look at the CA economy and it's politics in order to have a nuanced and balanced discussion.
