The state says it hopes to create a "bridge" between communities by creating a Barack Obama state Holiday.

This is a state that is close to bankruptcy, where the largest city with violence rivaling cities in war zones, and corruption throughout its government.

Maybe it's fitting.

Did you ignore/ omit " commemorative" holiday in your link? It is not a paid holiday.

Deep blue California has a commemorative holiday for Reagan given he spent most of his adult life in California, was a two- term governor and president.

Texas has a commemorative LBJ Day.

States have all sorts of commemorative holidays.

Obama was a mass murdering liar, whats to commemorate? I don't think any politician living or dead should be celebrated and for sure not at taxpayer expense.
