Security footage from a local nightclub and a college dormitory has cleared a University of California student of rape.
Arman Premjee, 20, was accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old fellow student in her dorm room after meeting at Banditos Taco & Tequila in Los Angeles on April 1.
Her jail sentence should be exactly what his would have been had he been found guilty. A strong message needs to be sent to women considering destroying a man's life like this.
None of the video will matter to the school or to LE. All she has to do is say that when the guy was about to insert what her finger represented into what the circle represented, she said No, Stop, I changed my mind. I suppose she could claim she said those things after finger entered circle and she's still home free. What's more likely is criticism of the judge for not letting the case go to trial.
And there are people out there who believe that all rape accusations should automatically be believed. They would've condemned the innocent man in this story.
We're not done yet. There will be posters who criticize the judge saying the young woman could have said no in her room, and he just didn't stop and we have no video of that.
Which may be a good point, but since the judge is privy to all the evidence and we're not, we need to put some faith in his ruling.
Like it or not, the ruling is the ruling and we're done - but wait for it....
The story ends with USC saying the man could still be expelled. It's the woman who should be expelled. When people reach 18, they are responsible for their own actions. If they get amorous after a couple of drinks they should realize that and do accordingly.
I hope at the least he goes after her in civil court for the crap she's put him through. If there was justice in this country, she would be in criminal court, facing the exact same sentence he could have gotten if found guilty.
