Just about sums up what is so idiotic about social media postings these days, and how even young people are influenced to stupidity by it.

Hopefully (but not very likely in this narcissist internet generation), these youngsters learned a lesson about humility and class.

The Atlee Junior League softball team was removed from the World Series championship game on Saturday after posting an inappropriate photo on social media.

According to the Richmond-Times Dispatch, Little League officials were made aware of the photo, which shows several members of the team giving the middle finger to the camera, on Saturday morning. It was quickly decided to disqualify the team, which consists of girls ages 12-14, from further competition.

Well, if the kids were talking and saying the same words as the picture indicates they would be removed all so ,so good.I'm ok with it.

I doubt they learned a lesson - they're probably complaining about how unfair it is.

Poor sportsmanship on their part - and where were the *adults* in all of this? Someone took the photo and posted it, and it wasn't a kid.

Sure it could have been. This was only a few of the players. One of the others most certainly could have done it.

I hate the idea of punishing all for what a few did. I've never liked that. I would have made those in the photo apologize to the tournament or sit.

No.All should be punished for what the few did. It further shames the few and teaches team accountability. This is what the military does.

So, middle finger to a camera and the whole team is disqualified, but brag about sexual assault and you get to be president.

We seem to have our priorities and our responses to wrongdoing completely messed up.

1/2 the team gave the middle finger (to the host team) and one posted it to SnapChat.

If this was meant to be a private photo that one of them stupidly posted then the punishment doesn't fit the crime.

If this was taken by someone and posted on some team account, I can see them taking it away.

" Little League removes softball team from World Series over social media post "

Good, a large part of playing on these youth teams is about building character. Their behavior was unacceptable, they can start anew next season.
