Whether or not it happened, I think we can all agree that this is something the Attorney General should get tough on. Right?
It hasn't been ignored for God's sake and the AG has very little to do with it, it's an independent task force funded by congress and under the general direction of the AG's office. This just should not be considered a big win for Sessions nor is it a partisan issue, I don't know of too many people regardless of political affiliation who think it's ok for health care providers to defraud the government https://oig.hhs.gov/fraud/strike-force/
It's just hard to get excited about it, prosecution of health care fraud has been going on for years with hundreds of arrests and billions of dollars recovered each year. It is not some new "Jeff Sessions" program so what is there to say about it?
Here's an example, if you want to take the time you can readily find a similar report for each of the past 10 years.
"During Fiscal Year (FY) 2015, the Federal Government won or negotiated over $1.9 billion in health care fraud judgments and settlements, and it attained additional administrative impositions in health care fraud cases and proceedings. As a result of these efforts, as well as those of preceding years, in FY 2015, approximately $2.4 billion was returned to the Federal Government or paid to private persons. In FY 2015, the Department of Justice (DOJ) opened 983 new criminal health care fraud investigations. Federal prosecutors filed criminal charges in 463 cases involving 888 defendants. A total of 613 defendants were convicted of health care fraud-related crimes during the year. Also in FY 2015, DOJ opened 808 new civil health care fraud investigations and had 1,048 civil health care fraud matters pending at the end of the fiscal year. So let me get this straight.

June 2015 - A $712 million bust, the biggest in U.S. history, shows that the people most likely to bilk the system are doctors and medical providers, not “welfare queens.”
Attorney Loretta Lynch’s announcement of arrests in what she called “the largest criminal healthcare fraud takedown in the history of the Department of Justice.” A total of 243 people were arrested and charged with stealing $712 million from Medicare. The arrests included 46 doctors, nurses, pharmacy owners, and other medical professionals. Facilities billed the federal government for therapy sessions where patients were actually just moved, never treated. In a particularly disturbing case, a Michigan doctor allegedly “prescribed unnecessary narcotics in exchange for patients' identification information, which was used to generate false billings. Patients then became deeply addicted to the prescription narcotics and were bound to the scheme as long as they wanted to keep their access to the drugs.”

true, but I don't think it has anything to do with the AG, the program has been in effect since 2007 and it pretty much runs itself with it's own staff, the Attorney General's role in these things is usually just to make the announcements of the arrests and convictions- much like a Police Chief would announce a big case that he/she probably was not even involved in.
