Yeah, it's some jobs.

But the state has offered record-breaking benefits that undercut the advantages, it's profiting a foreign country, and the company itself is so bad that it had triggered suicides.

Mostly to China, maybe some to Mexico, but I think that was mostly Michigan that lost jobs to Mexico (and to US automakers incompetence in the 80s).

There's only a few employers in the Kenosha area that advertise a decent starting wage. Though there's jobs most start at $12/hour or less which is rediculous in 2017. Id like to relocate there but that's half of what I make here at 3M.

Rumor has it their wages will be competitive with Uline, which is starting at $17.50 per hour in that area, which is more respectable. Combined with cheap real estate and I won't lie, I thought about moving to that area. Proximity to Milwaukee and Chicago without being too overpopulated... There's still farmland and countryside when you leave Kenosha, it's not all built up with non-stop development.

Indeed. This will be a massive investment on foxcon's part and bring a large number of jobs to the area not just by them, but people who are their suppliers. It could make this area a technological hub. It would not have been possible with an antibusiness Democrat governor in Wisconsin. Makes since as it's centrally located with abundant fresh water and interstates to distribute the product.

The company obviously cares about it's workers enough to invest in suicide nets. So they're not all that bad

It's the nature of the beast or doing business at least in manufacturing. Be it Nevada and Tesla or South Carolina and Boeing or any state in the South that has a car manufacturing plant, etc., it costs states billions in incentives to get those company to set up shop in their state.

Of course the bigger the plant or company, the more incentives a state has to throw at them. Foxconn knew if Wisconsin didn't throw billions in tax cuts at them, the next state would have been more than happy to step right up and give them billions to build their plant in their state. Don't hate the playa hate the game!
