What are the top exports for the US?
Hint: not agricultural crops/meat.
Do you really believe it is the average rural farmer who is exporting? Do you even understand what rural America is?
So I live in a rural area, what is it you hope that I am going to reap and suffer because the US pulled out of the TPP?

I hope that you learn that Trump's very idea of running was a lark - a JOKE. Even he had no idea he would actually win! Regardless of the views Trump expresses, or if you agree with him, he is not qualified for that job, by any measure.

And what is rural America, to you exactly. Because us here on the coastlines perceive rural America as wanting to have nothing to do with anything going outside the U.S. No outside influence seems be the mantra of interior America.

I'm sorry, what are your qualifications for passing judgement and for choosing POTUS?

I assume rural America is Americans living in rural regions of this country. People who are largely blue collar workers.
So your saying the definition of rural America is isolationists. And you believe pulling out of the TPP is going to somehow hurt isolationists?

So you have no logical rebuttal or no actual intelligent contribution to the argument that the US has been in a trade deficit therefore our agricultural exports which amount to less than 10% of exports are not nearly as important as our imports.

Important to whom is the relevant question.

Are you concerned about the ag sector at all? Is having a thriving ag sector in the national interest? Does the economic health of states like Iowa matter? If not, then you're correct.

Is there really anything to be concerned about? Agricultural exports have been in decline for several years. No one has answered how the TPP pullout will actually affect exports to those countries other than higher tariffs perhaps. I see no concrete evidence that this will damage the economic health of Iowa or the country. Perhaps I'm wrong but I have yet to see it.
