Here I feel kind of bad for him. He doesn't appear to be a bad person and will have to be on the defensive whenever he is interviewed by mainstream media.

He dug himself a massive hole with that controversial essay and is now forced to defend it. He may not have meant to be sexist, but that is how it appears to most people. In short, the optics of the memo are very bad for him.

Here's a tip: If what you say or write requires long-winded explanations after the fact to clarify what you meant, then it would be wise not say or write them in the first place. Don't dig a hole you may never get out of.

Most people are idiots. The essay is well written and scientifically sound.

How about we ignore this mentality and instead work toward building a society in which intelligent people are not discouraged from writing well about important things just because some snowflake's feelings might be hurt.

1. It isn't well-written.
2. While James Damore might have adequate analytical skills like most engineers at Google, he lacks intelligence in other spheres that are required of a professional.
3. James Damore should use this opportunity to reflect on how his unedited behavior in a professional environment has prevented him from succeeding - in the past, in the recent Google debacle, and in the future if he fails to mature.

Hope this helps.

Slate wants you to know that the Google memo happened because science itself is bad, a product of the Enlightenment, which was created by racist, sexist, slave owing rapist white men like Thomas Jefferson who stole ideas from indigenous people.
Quote:
Most saliently in the context of the Google memo, our scientific educations almost never talk about the invention of whiteness and the invention of race in tandem with the early scientific method... And far too many universally call technology progress while failing to acknowledge that it has left us in a dangerously warmed climate.
Evolutionary psychology is the most obvious example of how “science” is flawed.

Here's a suggestion ~ all who think that this was a great body of work and success - write a 10 page manifesto about your corporation and how they are wrong ~ send it to everyone in the company ~ and see how those SNOWFLAKE MANAGERS boot you out before you can say Boo.

Go ahead.

I dare you.

Here is the opinion of the "manifesto" by an evolutionary biologist, it's a good read and is well sourced:

It helps in that it illustrates the smug, authoritarian mindset thoughtful people are up against.

He was at work. He used the company's website.

I don't care if it was the DOI--I'd have canned him. Smug, Authoritarian mindset--IS the job site. You take the man's money..and you give your labor. Had he published this on line..and Google fired him over it...I'd be right with you..even though I think it's pseudo-intellectual clap-trap.

But he was at work. No freedom of speech there. Nor should there be.
