So what's the solution? What can we do to stop Kim from blackmailing the world while simultaneously keeping Seoul from being wiped out?

Sanctions haven't worked. Bribing North Korea hasn't worked. After all the sanctions, and all the aid money we've given them, those missiles are still aimed at Seoul, and Kim is still threatening to wipe out the United States and South Korea and Japan and, for all I know, Outer Mongolia as well. How do we put an end to this madness without igniting World War III or sacrificing millions of South Korean lives?

From there they can take any country on the Pacific Rim they want. I suspect China would then take Taiwan and then Japan.

And all the while the US couldn't and wouldn't do a thing.

Forget the Middle East. The Pacific Rim is the theater for WW3.
Russia may take advantage of our preoccupation with Korea by taking Eastern Ukraine.

Trade between the US and China is five times the trade between the US and Great Britain.
I'm not sure that China will jeopardize that. China will go into instant economic depression if they send troops into North Korea.

While it is true that the Chinese don't want American troops close to the Chinese border, South Korea has an impressive army which could invade the North while American drones and jets destroy anything that moves. The net effect of South Korea winning the Korean War would be that American troops might actually leave the peninsula. Don't count out the Japanese. They will see an opportunity to protect Japan by sending troops to South Korea in a defensive role. The Japanese air force is modern and I think that the Japanese could quickly develop drones to assist America. Japan is not the defeated dependent country that they were seventy years ago. Their economy could support a formidable armed force. The channel between Pusan and the Japanese coast is about 100 miles.

Does anyone think that China might be a little bit afraid of that wackadoo on their border?
If wackadoo can hit Chicago, he can hit anywhere in China.

I think instead of imposing sanctions on Russia, we should root out people here at home who collaborated with Russia to influence the election i.e. the current occupant of the White House.
Oh come on, you still buying that story? The only collusion in the last election was between the media and the DNC, and it backfired on them big time.

China just came out and said they would stay neutral if NK hit us and we hit back, but if we strike first they will back NK. NK is their buffer zone. I wish they would take out Kim Jun Un at least, but I guess they like his military bluster.

What makes me mad is that Tillerson was talking to them and I think it could have been very successful if there wasn't so much talk of impeachment or investigations into Trump. Now the Chinese aren't willing to listen because they can just wait and see what happens with Trump.

The proximity of NK's offensive weapons to the DMZ, also makes them subject to quick destruction by the US and SK. It works both ways.

Imagine what the idiot in the north would think if the US moved all our troops to the southern portion of SK, away from the DMZ. Do you think he would be more likely or less likely to march across the DMZ?

He would have to think that we are more likely to use our nukes against him, if he did something stupid.
