Socialists would rather play off feelings and emotions, to sell an idea.
Where, Conservatives analyze the cause and the effects and weigh it with history, so the same thing is not tried over and over, expecting different results.

Have you seen this play out?

Seems simple, without over analyzing it.

Conservatives push trickle down over and over and over with the same sad results.

Yup. Been proven. They only delude themselves into thinking their opinions are grounded in facts, rationality and history.

Fear and Anxiety Drive Conservatives' Political Attitudes
Conservatives Big on Fear, Brain Study Finds
Why fear is more prevalent — and powerful — among conservatives

Though you hardly need to read academic studies to conclude that, you can tell they operate on fear just by reading and listening to what they say.

Conservatives respect the rights of individuals. Progressives lie to cover up all their failed policies.

Progressives keep trying the same failed polices. Big government in the Middle East = failure
Big government in the health care business = failure
Big government fixing the economy they ruined = failure

Some more. Google "conservatives and fear" and you get a lot of interesting results.

Scientists Are Beginning to Figure Out Why Conservatives Are…Conservative
Quote:
The occasion of this revelation is a paper by John Hibbing of the University of Nebraska and his colleagues, arguing that political conservatives have a “negativity bias,” meaning that they are physiologically more attuned to negative (threatening, disgusting) stimuli in their environments. (The paper can be read for free here.) In the process, Hibbing et al. marshal a large body of evidence, including their own experiments using eye trackers and other devices to measure the involuntary responses of political partisans to different types of images. One finding? That conservatives respond much more rapidly to threatening and aversive stimuli (for instance, images of “a very large spider on the face of a frightened person, a dazed individual with a bloody face, and an open wound with maggots in it,” as one of their papers put it).

LOL! Like most here, that article confuses the Republican v. Democrat fight, with the Socialist v. Constitutionalist fight. They are two different battles, fought very close to each others theater of war.
