There's a reason Donald Trump was elected 45th President of the United States.

I'm actually more pleasantly surprised by Congress and our Military lately. When our leader is mediocre we have to look to the seasoned politicians and the men who serve the people. God forbid a functioning Congress should get in the way of the checks and balances dictated by our Forefathers. Yes, even the head of State needs to be checked by our elected civil servants.

And that's my whole point. My entire argument in a nut shell. No need to elaborate and extrapolate.

I'm so tired of hearing this. There's no data to back it up.

California was a red state. They voted for Eisenhower in 1952 and 1956. They voted for Nixon in 1960, 1968, and 1972. They voted for Ford in 1976. They voted for Reagan in 1980 and 1984, then Bush in 1988.

They saw how illegal immigration was changing their state, and voted 59%-41% to pass Prop 187 in 1994. If you're not familiar, this prevented illegal immigrants from obtaining public social services, health care services, and attending elementary and secondary schools. Liberal judges blocked it's implementation for years, then once they got a Democratic governor in, they killed the bill.

That's just some history on California. But here's some numbers.

In 2008 Obama carried Clark County 380,765 to 257,078.
In 2012, Obama carried Clark County 389,936 to 289,053.
In 2016, Clinton carried Clark County 402,227 to 320,057.

So of the 84,441 more votes between 2008 and 2016, 62,979 of those were Republican (75%) while 21,462 were Democrat (25%). That's not "liberals from California are coming here". Instead, it's "Republicans in California realize the writing is on the wall and are moving here."

If you look how precincts have changed in that time, you'll see exactly where this town is shifting right.

I'll trade Arizona and Nevada for Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan any day.

I read that in some cities like Macau and Singapore, the city actually gives the residents a refund because they have excess revenue...

Macau is similar to Las Vegas in that it's a city built on tourism and gambling (just 5X bigger).

CROSSING MY FINGERS...
You sure pick hilariously bad examples. Most citizens of Singapore live in government subsidized housing, almost all roads are tolled, gas and cars are taxed to extraordinary levels to pay for a vast public transit system. It probably is your idea of a liberal nightmare. Macau isn't quite as bad, but most live in publicly subsidized housing and education is 100% free including all university studies.

Gambling is about the only thing in common.

California has 11 counties with more voters than voting-age citizens. The Democrats have not been winning their elections, they've been stealing them! No wonder they behave so cruelly to their own people. No wonder they hand out everyone else's money so readily. Every one of them is a demented King Joffrey. They're usurpers, false representatives. Traitors and felons. And worse.

This whole time, Californians really have been voting these clowns out. That's what the electronic machines were there to fix. The constitutional referendums are the dead giveaway that something is way off.

The biggest tax increases in Nevada history have been under the realm of Republican (RINO) Governors: Gibbons and Sandoval. The biggest spending Governor in New York's history was Republican (RINO) Nelson Rockefeller, and it took the next Governor, a Democrat, to clean up the mess!

Unfunded pension liabilities (county/city/state) are what's going to do the most harm in the future for NV, as with most other states. Illinois is the tip of the iceberg!

Gore Vidal hit the nail on the head back in the 1970's by saying: The United States, essentially, has but one political party. And they badly need a 2nd!

It's pointless to discuss politics! In the Far East, wise words of wisdom: All arguments are juvenile!

I'm independent, but I'm not blind. The majority of red states belong to the knuckle dragging middle America. Those states aren't exactly on the poster child for wealth and education. The west coast and northeast coasts seem to be blue states, and yet they host many of the people and businesses that make up the evolution, education and wealth in America.

Hey, Reno and Las Vegas are havens for prostitutes, drug dealers, sex traffickers, illegals, thugs, airhead celebrities, money launderers, extreme weirdos, ostentatious wealth, and life time grifters -- so of course democrats will be drawn there -- that's their base, their tribe, their people!!

Yes. The Electoral College. Not the people of the United States.
