Barbecue sauce, steak sauce, hot sauce, tartar sauce, etc. are all far superior condiments and there's way more varieties of them. I would rather put Heinz 57 on a hot dog than ketchup.
I've hardly used ketchup at all in years and don't even have any at home. Ketchup is the bologna of the condiment world even spicy brown mustard ranks higher. For fries I would rather use tartar sauce to be honest. Ketchup is ok for onion rings but I struggle to think of anything else beyond that.

Funny enough, ketchup is used as the base for a lot of BBQ sauces. As for other uses, it's a great base for sweet sour sauce, add peppers, pineapple, ginger, brown sugar and vinegar. Banana ketchup for lumpiang. Curry ketchup is even better on onion rings, imo. Meatloaf. Use ketchup with the juice of 1 onion, some white pepper and oil for Catalina Dressing. There's tons more.
I mean really people~It's just a matter of choice, and it is a free country, at least last I heard....
Next, we will have civil war break out on City Data (in the politics thread!) about which is better Mayo or Miracle Whip!
I've been making my own barbecue sauce lately, and it does have some ketchup in it, but LOTS of other stuff. Far superior to anything in a bottle. As far as ketchup, on a hot dog, I don't think I've ever tried it! Sounds un-American.
