Sleep Apnea treatment has been around for almost 40 years...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_apnea#History

Suddenly not testing for it is President XXXXXX's fault?

Frankly, it should be a private insurance concern that companies test for it....if it were significant but it isn't.....

Partisan hack thread.

Personally, I'm vastly more concerned over distracted driving (texting\cell phones).

This must be some more of that "winning" the Trumplings keep claiming for their messiah. When one of these truckers falls asleep at the wheel and smashes into a school bus full of kids is that still going to be Trump "winning" for the little guy?

As someone who has been in and out of the transportation business for the last 21 years, this is a tragically stupid decision. And when I say stupid, I mean REALLY stupid. Unbelievable.

Believe me dude...this is a horrible decision. If the Trump Administration is behind this killing of that regulation, it's one of the dumbest decisions I've ever seen come out of a White House.

This isn't a partisan hack thread. Not even.

There are.

While FMCSA regulations do not specifically address sleep apnea, they do prescribe that a person with a medical history or clinical diagnosis of any condition likely to interfere with their ability to drive safely cannot be medically qualified to operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) in interstate commerce.
If they get it treated, they can drive.

This is more of that winning, thanks for noticing. In case you weren't aware, truckers with sleep apnea have been driving for years. Will you please point out to me all of the threads that you made about that, in protest, before you heard about this story?

So, why wasn't it dealt with in 2009?

Don't just say "nuh uh"....this has been a known problem for 40 years explain to any non-partisan why it's suddenly a grave issue? (Unlike before)
