Don't regular folks with sleep apnea, diagnosed or not, drive on the roads all day long too?
Something I'm frankly not cool with. If you have a diagnosed condition that causes chronic sleep deprivation, there should be serious restrictions about having a license.
Anyone responsible for hundreds/thousands of lives at a time, though, is in a completely different category! Pilots, bus drivers, train operators...they should all have tests to ensure that they are capable of operating those machines safely. I don't really see how this regulation is that harmful to business interests. This should just be standard across the board!

For pilots, the lowest class medical, 3rd Class required for private pilots, sleep apnea will have you sent to a sleep lab at your expense to possibly get a waiver for the condition, I'd guess higher level medicals are more stringent.
A large percentage of the population wants marajuana legalized but you are worried about sleep apnea?
I bet many people claiming fake outrage over this support drug legalization.
