What does China have to lose?

Practically - China will do nothing. NOTHING!

A vanquished NK is an economic boon for China, opening up more trade and infrastructure investments opportunities for a post Kim NK.

They have nothing to LOSE!!!

America, on the other hand, will become a second or even a third world country because yes, we will win, but at what cost?

We can't afford this war, period.

It's hard to say because China's strategy is to maintain the status quo as much as possible and to nudge things in their favor when they think they can do it, e.g. border disputes. Reason being that they are obviously "winning" economically under the current set of rules and political situation. A regime change in NK or any other country for that matter would bring about uncertainly which is against their main goal of maintaining the status quo and nudging things that have more certainty in their favor. It's very much different than the prior strategy of the US and Russia which was to forcefully change things in your favor despite the uncertainty. China in modern times is run very much like a corporation that isn't driven by any sort of ideology other than economic growth. That being said they will fight like crazy to get an edge in NK if it collapses.

If I were China, I would let the US do what they do best: wage frontal war and win it. Then, as usual, there won’t be a transition plan, a legitimate transition governing body that can ensure the road to peace. So I would do what I do best. Strike bilateral deals with South Korea, Russia on how to handle NK. I will slowly but patiently seed growth of influence in a new country that I want to be an ally and a barrier with South Korea.

That would be the worst case scenario for China.

Worst case for U.S.? Wasting money we don't have. Money doesn't grow on the tree here yet.

If we are stupid enough to go at it again, China will gladly supply the arms for both trouble-makers (in her view) to grind each other to dust, with a long sigh of relief.

He was past his "Use by" date. Truman knew it was time to put him out to pasture.

MacArthur also had a lunatic plan for seeding the Korean DMZ with radioactive cobalt, that would kill anything that tried to pass over it, for hundreds of thousands of years.

Are you Really that Ignorant of American history? MacArthur was going to get us into a far worse war than had been fought in Korea. Go do some reading...............

A war that would have put us in a much better position today, and a war that would have saved a lot of lives.

Mac had gone to seed by the time Korea broke out. It was he and his staff in Japan that kept ignoring reports from the field that Chinese were crossing the Yalu River in force in Nov of 1950 that led to UN forces nearly being overrun and retreating back to the 38th parallel.

He also screwed up badly in Dec 1941, allowing his air assets in the Philippines to be destroyed on the ground.

His reputation is a whole lot bigger than his performance ever was. He was always way too convinced that he was the smartest guy in the room and wouldn't take advice. His belittling remarks about Eisenhower stand as evidence of this.

Truman was absolutely right to replace him.

The fallout has to go somewhere. Where do you think it might end up?
