Trump emphasized repeatedly that he believed many of the “Unite the Right” rally participants were not members of hate groups and were there to protest the pending removal by the city of a statue of the Confederate general Robert E. Lee.
“You had people in that group who were protesting the taking down of what to them is a very, very important statue,” Trump said, before suggesting that Lee and other Confederate-era generals, including Stonewall Jackson, are the victims of historical revisionism attempting to delegitimize their roles.
Speaking rhetorically, Trump asked reporters whether George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, both slave owners, should suffer the same fate and have their statues removed. “You're changing history; you're changing culture,” he said.
Trump reiterated his condemnation of Nazis and other white supremacists. But he also made clear that he believed that some of the counterprotesters were armed and took aggressive actions that helped spark the violence.
“What about the alt-left that came charging at the alt-right — do they have any semblance of guilt?” Trump said. “They came charging, clubs in hand, swinging clubs.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/p...=.f9c9f175fef5
good points. the wapo will have a fit of apoplexy. again
I consider that people who want to preserve confederate monuments can be good people, much better than most of the people who seek to tear them down.
I consider people who want to conserve white countries good people and consider white nations a good thing. People who want to change America and other Western nations' demographics are mostly bad people and racists.
So I guess you would have been happiest when America was full of only the Puritans and the Native Americans? Because there has been a steady stream of immigrants of many nationalities since that time, all of which have added to the diverse flavor that makes this country as great as it is.
Three wolves is a bitter spinster who smells like cigarette because she is chain smoker. A woman not only consumed by alcohol but also by hate. She is a neonazi in the making.
I don't smoke.
I don't drink.
I hate lefties. Suck on it.
I'm not a neo-Nazi.
Any other lies you'd like to spout off or should I just report this post for being against the TOS?

And Three Wolves, for every "smack" I might administer to myself, you are welcome to punch yourself in the face. Fair is fair, no? And I'm sure you're a "big, strong man" as opposed to the old lady that I am.
I'm not a man. Stupid people should smack themselves when they make stupid statements. I did not make a stupid statement.
Odd interpretation on your part. He just stepped back into a complete mess probably making everything worse and ensuring this controversy will go on. Trump is quite literally his own worst enemy.
I've no idea how many of the protestors that came to Charlottesville were "National Socialists" or KKK compared to non-Nazi/KKK alt-righters or other less radical groups. Likewise, I've no idea how many "antifa's" (a group I'd never heard of until yesterday) came to town.
What DID strike me though from the coverage is that most of the ordinary citizens or those not prepared for "battle" in some way appeared to be among the counter-protestors. Here, too, the coverage of protestors in videos bragging that they were coming to a liberal city to take over the streets was telling. No mention at all of General Lee or his statue.
More, I've no doubt that the vast majority of the good citizens of Charlottesville who DID want to keep the statue in Emancipation Park are in no way a "Nazi" nor "racist" and, more, were appalled at those who came to town in their name to stir up trouble.
This isn't the first time the radical right has descended on Charlottesville. There was a May rally led by Richard Spencer (an alt-right white nationalist) and the July rally consisted of 50 members of the KKK. The local Republican view of all this:
Quote:
Erich Reimer, the chair of the Charlottesville Republican Party, said the “intolerance and hatred they seek to promote is utterly disgusting and disturbing beyond words.”
The white supremacists, as repugnant as their views are, were protesting peacefully, as they always have. And they haven't been given any attention
This time Antifa showed up and created a massive fight, and gave them even more attention
Oh, so now peaceful people wear helmets, shields and riot gear to protest peacefully?
