Your race is not an accomplishment; you did nothing to earn it other than be conceived and plopped out of the vagina of someone of that race. What's there to be proud of? Might as well be proud of having an *******; everyone was born with one of those as well.
"Pride in race" these days is almost always a code for disparagement / segregation of other races.
What you're supposed to be proud of, if you're not an idiot, are actual individual accomplishments - that you worked hard and earned your college degree, raised good kids, paid a kind act forward, created something great, did the right thing when no one was watching and it was hard. And that is open to anyone of any race.
That is how you foster pride that actually builds a society up rather than tears it down.
Well....the slogan "I am black and proud" only came about because "blackness" was under attack. Hence, black pride became a prophylactic against being infected from the doctrine of white supremacy and its corollary of black inferiority. Thus, painting "black pride" with the same brush as "white pride" is an apples and oranges type of thing. Yeah...they are both fruits....but that is about it.

There is a lot of truth to this. If you look at the number of truly genius people throughout history you're talking about only thousands of people. For example, Western Europe has dominated inventions in the past 400 years but only a few thousand people invented everything while the vast majority of people did nothing innovative. You'd find the same thing throughout history in Egypt, Greece, Rome, China, Mesopotamia, etc. Even in the most advanced nations it's a fraction of the people that separates them from uncivilized groups. Racial supremacists are almost always losers who hang their hat on being part of the dominant team. It would be like the backup punter on the New England Patriots trying to claim that they are the reason for all those championships when they themselves are no better than the backup punter on the bad teams.

Of course. When part of the Leftist agenda is to make White people, and Christian men in particular as the Demons of the world, there is going to be as Van Jones put it "White Lash".
It's not really any different than bringing up negative statistics wrt black population on murder and violent crimes. It may be directed at the "Few" who commit the crimes, but the reality is you insult all black people. Same can be said about Mass shooters being mostly white.

Most people are confusing proud of being some ethnicity versus proud of what the ethnicity brings. There's nothing wrong with being proud of the way you grew up and how you were raised. Everyone feels that way.
By being a person of a different ethnicity, you bring a different value system to the table (i.e. society). The "that's how we do it in our house" mentality. That's always what it means when someone is proud of their race. Don't confuse physical differences between cultural differences.
However this is not authorization to judge who's superior unlike these KKK, neo Nazis, et all. But being proud of being some ethnicity isn't just about your individual accomplishments either. It's about cultural norms too.

Cuban Puerto Rican Mexican and Dominican.
Cuban sammich mofongos seasoned rice and legit tacos and tamales... mmm nomnom... plus Hispanic people aren't all uptight... they enjoy life and live it. Strong sense of family too... they don't ship their grandparents off to nusring homes... very respectful traditional and oldschool.

Ahhhh...the ole...Fallacy of Composition. You saw a case study of this fallacy when racist would use the election of Obama as some sort of proof that racism is no longer a problem in America. In other words, some white folks voting for a Black person for President means that whites in general had no problems with a black person becoming president or problems with black people in general.....notwithstanding the FACT that the majority of white voters voted against him....the majority want to be seen and judged based upon the actions of the minority.
