Not by Americans. But feel free to ask the countries which did colonize Africa for reparations.
No slaves for sale by fellow Africans for profit = no slave trade.
We did ask them....and they said the same thing that you are saying. Why would they say anything different? Nowhere do whites want to be accountable for their wrongs.....whether in America or Europe.
And those differentials are largely due to...economic inequality.
I agree to an extent. I do not think that inner city blacks have the same opportunity that say suburban kids have. Part of it is economic, and part of is lack of both parents, or lack of involvement by parents. Also, there are elements of the black community that demonize learning, and doing well in school, because it is "too white". Let's be honest here. It is a complex issue with many facets.
So let us say those scores are right(which i doubt)
Take that up with NCES, a federal agency.

If you are against Affirmative Action, then there may be mass unemployment of blacks or they go back to living in deep poverty.
Why shouldn't employment be merit-based? Anyone want an Affirmative Action cardiac surgeon performing their open heart surgery, or heart lung transplant?
That's what I want to know, because after all this demonization for decades, don't you think people are going to get sick of it? Yes some horrible things happened over the years, but we have definitely reached a point now where people get along a lot better than they used to. For example I see interracial couples all-over the place.
So if white people keep getting push down-and beat on, and chastised, and the Al Sharptons and Jesse Jackson's of the world keep running their mouths, what do people think is going to happen? It seems like a sort of reverse of the fifties the sixties, and the fight continues, now it's just a different hand dealt with different players.
This is interesting insight into some groups thoughts in this country.
African slave traders weren't American. They were African and European. African and European countries are to blame. Not the US.
I am pretty sure one can feel justified in "blaming" the US for slavery in the country regardless of the source.
