Please direct me to the monuments in the US for the Germans and the Japanese soldiers from WWII, then. We should treat them with dignity and respect and by your definition, that apparently includes monuments to them on public grounds in the US.
Pretty much everyone posting here has said they don't approve of people destroying public property in the case of the confederate monuments. It's not inconsistent to feel that way while still believing that these monuments do not belong on public land, being maintained by the taxpayers of the country that these soldiers fought against.
And there is no "fact that the Left is ok with this type of anarchism." What speaks volumes is how facilely you make up false facts to support your claims.
You are aware that North Carolina and Virginia were at one time part of the Confederate states ....right?
So having Confederate monuments there is more analogous to Germany having monuments in Germany and the Japanese having monuments in Japan.
As far as I'm aware, there are no Confederate monuments in.....Maine for example.
And as far as the left being complicit with this, you don't have to look very far away from this thread to find people on the Left practically cheering these vandals on.
The book: George Washington and Slavery - A Documentary Portrayal
Quote:
No history of racism in America can be considered complete without taking into account the role that George Washington—the principal founding father—played in helping to mold the racist cast of the new nation.
Well, if it was between a Confederate statue coming down vs a statue of the late John F. Kennedy, I'd rather see the Confederate statue come down. I have far more respect for Kennedy than I will ever have for any Confederates.
Kennedy: Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.
Confederates were talking about seceding from the USA and their desire to keep slavery. What those protesters did was vandalism, and therefore illegal. They will suffer consequences. That said, I don't find myself getting upset. I don't feel any loss from seeing a Confederate statue being toppled. I don't celebrate traitors.
You have a major loss here. You've had a loss of conscience. Just because that statue is something you don't care about, you don't mind that it is gone. Not realizing that if these people get away with this the next time it can be something that is important to you.
The next thing will be attacking anyone who has different political views from them. Oh, that is already happening with the witch hunt going on in D. C. because these thugs don't like the presidents views.
And they were so bold and proud of themselves. Lady on the news just minutes ago was bragging that this should get someone's attention. I agree. It needs to get the attention of law enforcement and they need to go to jail.
This stupidity is really getting completely out of hand. I spent years in a part of Texas full of such statues, some of them on private land, where the locals will basically shoot any idiot trying to knock down a statue and ask questions later. This balkanization mess has gotten bad enough already with the disaster in Charlottesville and these fools tearing down the statue in North Carolina are only going to escalate it further. This is how civil wars get started, America is already enough of a powder keg as it is.
The commies are leading the lefties down the path to socialism.. they can't get the Republicans because we are not stupid.
You voted for a con man, that is about as stupid as it gets.
