Lucky kid.. get laid and gets a million bucks. What didn't I think of this? Of course if I was the teacher, I'd never pay that settlement. I'd buy a bunch of bitcoin, hiding any assets I have, and file bankruptcy. Screw that judge and the horse he rode in on. Sorry, there's no emotional distress over a 15 year old male getting laid by a schoolteacher. It is Oklahoma, so this is expected. As for all the people saying how wrong it is, you are correct that a teacher should not be having sex with students, though I see nothing particularly harmful about a 15 year old male getting laid by a female in her 20's.. if anything he'll turn out more confident and socially well adjusted and be a better man for it. The biggest ill in modern society is men not being able to get laid. It's literally the psychological equivalent to counseling for a male only better to be able to get any sex at all. Accept this is how men are wired and you'll begin to understand us better. I'd be more concerned if this 15 year old turned into a socially awkward individual who never got laid until they were 30 than I would this scenario. Kudos to the teacher, congrats to the kid.
An adult in a position of power having sex with a child is sexual abuse. jeez.

The teacher doesn't pay it. Her employers carrier does.
No, I would not feel the same way, I admitted there is a double standard in this world. Our little girls are angels and off limits, even to having sex with their teen boyfriends. Is it fair and reasonable, probably not, but that is just how it is.
Now, as far as me knowing nothing about this child's emotional makeup, no, but I was his age once and I knew a lot of other guys my age, and beyond. Believe me, NO young man is damaged in any way by having a little love affair with a lady who might be a few years older. It just is unreasonable to even think they would.
Boys and men do not think like females, we just don't. 99% of guys would be bragging to their buddies and telling all the details. Unless you have lived inside a male head, it is impossible to explain how our thinking process and values are much different from those of a female.
Been there, done it.
Definitely not. Also, I have news for you. Teenage girls, as a whole, are not as angelic as you seem to think.
No one ever mentions the specific psychological damage these situations can bring to the child. Just because they are aroused doesn't mean it is ok for an adult in a position of authority to take advantage of a kid for their own kicks, or because the adult cannot find someone their own age that is interested.
What happens when the child falls for the adult, and then gets their heart broken? Sex brings it beyond a simple crush, which is hard enough to cope with. It's bad enough when it happens between teens, but when the adult is the cause of it? It's totally unnecessary heartache and aggravation for the child, parents, siblings, teachers, and anyone else who interacts with someone way too young to cope with those feelings. These situations are not "cool", as some childish people like to brag, these situations are pathetic.
Why do parents not let kids out of their sight anymore? What is the ultimate fear? Obviously, it's the possibility of being hurt in some way by an evil adult. Or, does anyone let their kids run free as they did in the 70s when I was little?

This should go without saying. But it's being said and there are idiots still staying that it's perfectly ok when it's an adult female raping a minor male.
I can only hope those who think this is perfectly fine are not and never will be the parents of a boy.
Actually, I can only hope they never procreate at all, because they also have a very antediluvian idea of female sexuality if they think that it's ok for an adult woman to rape a boy because boys have an interest in sex, yet they assume that teenage girls don't have the same feelings as the excuse why it's not ok for an adult male to have sex with a 14 or 15 year old girl. They clearly know very little about teen boys or girls!

That's by definition. A young mind cannot form a judgement to reject the authority figure of an adult. The constraints on an adult in the school environment are more strict and extend beyond the usual 16 year old limits because of that.
