Folks, stop trying to defend or blame one side or the other. The only people responsible for violence are those who commit violent acts. It's called personal responsibility. It's something that mature adults not only understand, but embrace.

Many of the more hard right posters are doppelgangers from Stormfront and other similar sites. I have seen discussion that the new strategy is to try to appear reasonable, eschew blatant Neo Nazi or white power talking points but to try to use dog whistles and more subtle race baiting to try to turn the non-radicalized right in a more racist direction and simultaneously discredit the left. That is what is happening here, but it is probably not going to work.

That is QUITE a theory you've got there. It matched up perfectly with the left wing protesters who try to blend at right wing rallies only to engage in racist, violent and other bad behavior in an effort to make them all look bad.
You seem like a smart guy, surely you understand this goose/gander thing. Or does me being a very reasonable poster all around land me in the Stormfront/Neo Nazi category now? When you discount "reasonable" to make things work in your head you've lost it.

Kudos for a well run operation. Does seem odd..that a city with such a left-leaning reputation--is able to handle protests so well..when many other cities have such an issue.
This thread is about how a police force kept a riot from happening and people getting hurt. How does that translate to being a pro Stormfront (whatever that is) and doppelgangers and such? Would you rather have seen a riot with injuries, deaths, and destruction of the city? Is protesting now a bloodsport for your TV viewing pleasure?

Maybe some are disappointed the police did not shove the protesters into the violent crowd as they did in Virginia.
I suppose if we don't want violence against them that means we must agree with them. Maybe being against violence is too reasonable, and according to some, reasonable people are just nazis in disguise.
There is no straw man when someone gets murdered, none.
What should be looked into is whether or not the counter protestors had permits, if not they should of never been allowed to congregate near the Nazi's, Neo Nazis, racists, bigots, whatever they are.
