Some things matter a lot over the long run. Whether our kids are equipped to compete in the 21st Century. Whether our economy provides a balance of equity and growth to enable a secure future for us all.

Priority folks. It used to be transgender bathroom rights, now it is tearing down monuments. Money doesn't grow on trees. Jesus!

I'll give you examples: Antifa, BLM, Occupy Wallstreet, socialist, communist, anarchist, CAIR. And media like Huffpost.

Yah. Usually the name is spelled Goebbels.

As to the point - statues & memorials & plaques & etc. commemorating Presidents Washington & Jefferson are typically lauding the principles they stood for, rather than their personal lives &/or traits. As symbolic avatars of the virtues we aspire to as a country, they serve quite well.

Yes, Washington wasn't the goody-goody that Parson Weems fabricates him to be - he did fight & endure through the War of Independence, when lots of other leadership died or tired or gave up. That is worth remembering. Jefferson also contributed mightily to the exit of the colony & the birth of the new republic - also worthy in & of itself.

Yep, it would be nice to have heroic paragons of virtue - but the US prides itself on being a practical nation. We work with the situations & personnel & equipment we have to hand, not sit about & moan about what we're lacking. Bear in mind that the European component of the colonies & the US was the cranks & malcontents & ambitious, mostly without social standing nor professions, who came over for the promise of cheap land & room to grow, without regards to the social graces nor the niceties of established religions & governments & stifling social arrangements.

We're the mutts of the World, & be warned: We bite!

And why are they considered alt left. What exactly does alt left mean. Can you explain that to me.

Are you so sure of this? When President Trump said this the other day as a way of saying where does it stop, perhaps he was right. Look in one week what has happened and how the demands have expanded.

It means the extreme left-as in violently shutting down free speech, rioting, killing cops, calling for Washington and Jefferson to be removed etc. Stop being obtuse.
