Do you even know what treason means? You clearly have no concept of history. The South entered into the union with the understanding they could leave if it didn't work for them. Obviously no state would have entered into this unknown, untested union, if they were told they could never leave. When the day came that the North decided to destroy their economy, they decided to leave the union. That's why they fought the Civil War. That's hardly treason.
So it is a reminder of one of the things the war was about. I don't see why people are all so offended by statues now but haven't been in the past. Many of these statues have been up 100 years or more. Why now is not being offended a right. Don't look at the statue, how about that?
How about letting towns make their own decision.? In 1924 Charlotte wanted a lee statue. In 2017they do not. Both times probably reflected the majority. Why are you so hot to intervene in local affairs?
It's to remind German nazies of their crimes. But these confederate statues are a reminder to blacks that some people still honor those who fought to keep them in chains.

They lost the civil war to the north. So they should really not even have the right to have these statues or their flags. And why are they even celebrating the fact that they Lost? It would be like the losing football team flying their school flag around the football field after a loss. Hey everyone, let's celebrate and draw attention to being losers!

Should we blow up the Crazy Horse memorial? Smash the Sitting Bull memorial? Tear down the Pancho Villa statues? The Benito Juarez statue in Chicago too. They all lost. No reason their names should be on anything in our country unless it's an apology right?
Might as well add Malcolm X's statue in NYC & any schools, parks or boulevards named after him since he was an avowed racist. Martin Luther King Jr. was a homophobe, tear all his stuff down too.

But the democrats aren't proud of losing the election. They don't have statues up comerating losing the election. Also, elections are democracy, not dictatorship. There is the senate and congress that is comprised of democrats that republicans have to work with. There are checks and balances. Do you have any understanding of our political system and how losing a war works? Are you getting my point yet?
