I can't stand to watch right wing spin/lies float around unchallenged, so here is a thread with the PLAIN FACTS straight from the Axios source rather than some dishonest "Fake News" right wing rag.
40% agree both sides to blame, but dad more ascribe individual blame to protesters than counter-protesters. Also heavily partisan division, indicating that we can't agree on basic facts in this country. Republicans support Trump's statement on Charlottesville.
Why it matters: These findings reflect the fact that, because of the nation's partisan divide and fractured media, we no longer agree on basic facts. That makes civil debate impossible.
When presented with a verbatim quote from President Trump on Tuesday ("You had a group on one side that was bad, and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent"), more disagree (53%) than agree (43%).
Far more blame "the far right groups" for Charlottesville (46%) than "the counter-protesters" (9%), but a remarkable 40% concur with Trump's assertion that both were equally responsible.
"Beneath the surface, we see the same partisan division: Two-thirds of Democrats (66%) blame the far-right groups rather than the counter-protesters (6%), while Republicans overwhelmingly blame both sides equally (64%). About the same proportion of Republicans blame the far-right groups (18%) as the counter-protestors (17%)."
Democrats overwhelmingly and invariably defend the left and blame the right, and Republicans don't. And Antifa is supported by Democrats. That says a lot. The Democrats are what they tried to falsely accuse Republicans of being, namely supporters of the extremist and violent.

And the right, which gets a free pass from Republicans when it comes.to violence, is KKK, neo-Nazis, and other white racists. That also says a lot.
Remember when the polls told you that Hillary would win 400 electoral votes and the Dems would take back the House and Senate?
Guess you you haven't learned a goddamned thing.
As Trump builds up win after win on the economy and foreign policy, the Dems snivel about statues, transgender bathroom righs, and a fake Russian story with no crime.
But keep citing those polls, and i'll see in in 2018.
You're own post of Republican polling in this thread you keep harping about belies that claim. What a joke.
Actually, I'll take that back. I have some integrity, unlike Town Hall. I re-read the material. You are correct in the asymmetry between Republicans vs Democrats, I had it wrong. It's just more here on this forum where I see significant blame for counter-protesters and very little / virtually none for protesters.
Even if some "majority" believed the Earth was flat or the sun revolved around the Earth it would still not mean a thing.
What is revealing is that a whole lot of people, who say they are not aligned with Nazis or white supremacists or racists, are working very hard to defend them!
When you march alongside these people you are accepting their baggage.

I blame Both, but I believe the right came there to instigate a fight because instead of simply showing up in their day to day clothing many chose to wear uniforms, carry signs with support for white supremacy, shields, helmets, sticks, mace, and various other weapons. Yes, the left was going to show up and stand against those that support racism, and that is what the right, for the most part, wanted. I get it, some people want the monuments to stay, in part I agree, but it is how you go about doing it that will decide how it all ends up, try saving them from the gutter and you will lose, do so from higher ground and your message will be heard.
Sadly, in my this entire issue has been contrived and blown way out of proportion, to me peoples emotions are being played and we as a People are being manipulated, and sadly the Sheep rarely know they are being directed.
