The Dems could probably find talent if they didn't require their candidates to check a bunch of diversity boxes.

Democratic strategists are hopeful that former President Barack Obama could lead the party ahead of the 2018 midterm elections next year, but some senators argue he needs to stand back and allow new leadership to take charge, according to a Monday report.

“Democrats badly need Barack Obama,” Democratic strategist Brad Bannon told The Hill. “He offers such a vivid contrast to Trump in behavior and temperament … He always sounded reasonable and acted responsibly even if you disagreed with him. None of the potential Democratic presidential candidates have the visibility or credibility to be effective.”
"Pathetic" in what respect ? Or is it just that you hate Obama ?

Like him or not, Former President Obama was all the things they mentioned.........reasonable, stable, and more. People still go crazy when they see him, and he is very inspirational and knows what he is talking about.

The Democratic party does need a strong leader to emerge and help them win local and national elections again. Nothing wrong with calling in your heavy hitter when the game is tied at the end of the 9th. He wil do them nothing but good, and I am happy to see him back.

Oh yeah, he really destroyed it............FOR BOTH TERMS HE WON ! The GOP put up their best, and he still cleaned their clocks on election day. It would have been a whole different horse race this past November if Obama were able to run against Trump. He would have chewed him up and spit him out.

The debates would have been like the Thrilla in Manila, Trump with his extremely limited intelligence and vocabulary, up against a poised, highly intelligent and articulate Obama. It would have been a slaughter.

No I don't hate Obama . Just saying it's pathetic and sad that Dems think they need him to save their party.
I actually voted for Obama and other Dems before I saw the light .

The Democrat party has changed for the worst over the years .

Obama did not deliver on the promise of being a transformational President .

America has some big problems that need to be solved and Obama and Bush didn't really tackle those issues.

I mean Obama's piece de resistance and legacy was supposed to be Obamacare laughably named the Affordable Care Act yet it turned out to be unaffordable .

Romney and McCain were both poor candidates . McCain worse than Romney .

But the Dems put up supposedly their best and she got chewed up by someone with no political experience .

Also keep in mind many Obama voters voted for Trump instead of Clinton.

Clinton was supposed to be female version of Obama and he gave voters the hard sell encouraging them to vote for her.
A lot of his voters didn't buy what he was peddling though . Thankfully .

If you need a bum like Obama to save your party, you're already done for.

No, Barry is back out on his patio smoking a Marlboro Red, with little understanding of what he wrought during his tenure.

Pathetic.

I voted for him the first time. Not the second. (I sat it out, which I know is wrong, but I just couldn't like either candidate enough to bother filling out an absentee ballot while travelling.)

The Village Voice published a paper that had an Obama/Bush cover. Half of Obama's face was cracking away to reveal Bush underneath. That was exactly how I felt about what he had done while in office. Same old, same old. Totally agree with what you wrote above - he didn't deliver.

Under Obama the (D)'s started with large majorities in the House and Senate and lost it.

(D)'s are looking back on this fondly?

Yeah, that will work.

Obama is the reason Hillary lost. I know people think it was her, but if she would have run as the moderate I think she is she would have won. Bernie Sanders and Robby Mook assured that she didn't go to the center, which I believe would have made her president.
