They reassigned him because of his name, not his Asian heritage. ESPN also clarified that they asked him and that they both came to a mutual agreement that this was the best course of action.

I've touched on this before but what I don't understand is that if his name is offensive in Charlottesville how does it become non-offensive in Pittsburgh (where Lee will call the YSU-Pitt game)?
Can Lee only work in Union states now? If he can work in the South can he work games in the state of Virginia or even return to Charlottesville?
Man, Asians have it hard. Can't play the race card like the blacks. And have to do really well academically to get into
good colleges. No affirmative action for them. Few job prospects in Hollywood, the NBA, NFL, politics. etc. In the old
days their Asian names would get them discriminated against. Now their American sounding names apparently aren't
good enough either.

It's offensive in Charlottesvile because three people died related to the pulling down of a Robert Lee statue.
The discrimination had nothing to do with his race though.
I sometimes struggle with the logic presented by folks on these boards.
It had nothing to do with him being Asian.
Do you think the same thing would have happened to a black person with the same name in the same position?
