Meh. Poorer U.S. black communities do have more crime. Displaced groups in general often share that characteristic. People of African origin in the Americas tend to struggle due to displacement and poverty. Further, in the U.S., black people have never truly been able to regroup and have had to exist and salvage their cultures within greater society. So that has played out negatively, particularly in the inner cities. Reality is though that the majority of black people live in the suburbs and lead decent lives. There is just a minority that is taking longer to get it together.
As far as the world all over, the most violent communities are currently found among people of largely European descent in Latin America or in the Middle East. So looking a worldwide picture, she is correct.
The Ford Foundation and Borealis Philanthropy recently announced the formation of the Black-Led Movement Fund [BLMF], a six-year pooled donor campaign aimed at raising $100 million for the Movement for Black Lives coalition.
That funding comes in addition to more than $33 million in grants to the Black Lives Matter movement from top Democratic Party donor George Soros through his Open Society Foundations, as well as grant-making from the Center for American Progress.
So now liberal/left foundations and billionaires are openly funding terrorism and the assassination of police officers.
They should have all their money seized, be prosecuted under RICO statutes, and their leaders should get life sentences without parole in supermax prisons.
Poor cities, no matter what color the people there are, supposedly have higher numbers of violent crimes than more affluent cities, but not a higher percentage of violent crimes than poor rural areas that generally have more white people. So I understand that point of view.
We discussed something similar in my sociology class way back in 1992. That's all I remember, but it made sense.
"Poor cities, no matter what color the people there are, supposedly have higher numbers of violent crimes than more affluent cities"
Chicago, Baltimore, L.A. Wash., D.C. etc are NOT considered "poor" cities.
Most cities have poor areas and most of those areas are populated by blacks.
