We can be 100% certain the complainers and/or the OP don't have the cash to send their broods to schools like this. Rather, like Homer Simpson, they yell at whatever the TV (or radio, or web site) tells them is "an outrage".
Heck, if they had any money they'd be in the financial forums.
1) I DID send my kids to Catholic school.
2) Why would I visit the financial forum? You think it's wise to get advice from morons on the internet who lack such critical thinking that they assume people who posted negatively in this thread have no money?

This is a private school that charges $30,000 for kindergarten.
"Of the 660 students who attend the K-12 school, 121 are boarding students and 98 of these are international students from British Columbia, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Mexico, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam."
Stock said the year before last the school began offering catechism after school and then last year phased it out entirely.
“We had very few families interested. I think last year it was fewer than five,” Stock said. “It just made sense to have the students prepare for communion with their local parishes where they would be with a larger group of students.”
Stock said, “Over the last few years we’ve had fewer Catholic students as part of the community and a larger number of students of various faith traditions. Right now about 80 percent of our families do not identify as Catholic.”
It is a business that is responding to market conditions to stay competitive and maintain enrollment levels.
$30,000 a year is a very steep price for Catholic Elementary School. No wonder they have to admit Non-Catholics. With that tuition they can go to an exclusive Non-Sectarian Private School. So maybe this school is "Catholic" in name only really?
When my older daughter went to Catholic school for a couple of years in NYC back in the '80s, we were told that if we had more than 2 children in school, the 3rd plus would not have to pay any tuition. It seemed to me that they were pushing people to have larger families even back then. Imagine $30,000 a year PER student? Seems counter productive to encouraging larger families.

I also send my children to Catholic school, and I agree with you...what does that have anything to do with posting on the financial forum anyway? What a ridiculous post, and yet that poster asked me who I thought I was...the pope? Well, who does he/she think he/she is posting such a rude, ridiculous thing.
An independent Catholic school in San Anselmo, California, has sparked the ire of some parents after officials removed and relocated a large number of religious statues, including those of Jesus and Mary, in order not to alienate children of other faiths.
First off, yes...private institution. Their business model. Their party, their rules.
On a personal note...how sad. Just so sad.
I agree on all counts. I find it beyond sad, I find it annoying that we've gotten to this hyposensitive place as a nation.
How are symbols of peace and good will offensive to non-Christians, I'm assuming. I mean how do we get to that place. Jesus and Mary didn't commit any atrocities directly. I know the anti-Christian crowd won't like that but whatever. I'm not a Christian so I don't have a dawg in the fight really. I'm just annoyed by the lack of logic and this whole stupid silly hyper PC culture we're in now.
If Muhammad had a statue representation I wouldn't get upset if it were sitting at a Mosque.
I mean how damn stupid are we going to get here????

I don't know who that poster is, but (s)he's already proven herself to be lacking credibility.
Some folks are miserable and unhappy and it comes out online.....in several threads, I might add.
Just a note to those who keep posting that we don't understand because nobody asked the school to remove the statues, they're doing it on their own.
Without the nonsense going on in our country - they wouldn't feel the need to dilute who they are in an effort to attract other students.
For most of us, that's the point.
