And that is exactly the stereotype of Asian-American rivers: timid.

I got hit from behind on one of my motorcycles while making a right turn into a parking lot. I had slowed down to turn, turn signal on (corroborated by witnesses). He tried to pass me on the right because I had slowed down. Illegal alien Filipino male (Asian). No driver's license or insurance. Didn't speak English.

Bent the frame. The bike had to be completely rebuilt.

Semi related anecdote:

I recently chatted with a nice women neighbor who newly immigrated from the Philippines. She's about 5' tall and 100 lbs. Her husband is a big guy. The family car is a big SUV.

Since we live in a semi rural suburb and her husband works, leaving her alone in the woods for a long day, the topic of her need to get a drivers license came up.

I asked if she had driven in the Philippines. She said she drove a motor scooter there in Manila and how different that was. Later she said she looked forward to seeing and driving in snow. (Not that there's anything wrong with that... )

Conclusion? IDK but I gradually took a couple steps back and smiled cordially.

Then to confirm my recollections I found this among many videos. Traffic in Manila

I've seen a strong pattern of Asian Americans being good at math/computers/science. I haven't seen the same pattern of Asians being bad drivers.

My idea of "bad driver" is someone who violates laws, like driving in the wrong lane. Not timid.

First, assuming that Asian countries have loose traffic laws AND that is the cause of bad driving, they would have to be straight from those said countries. Also, loose traffic laws don't necessarily make you a bad driver. Then you would have to come to the conclusion that they can't learn to drive Better. I mean kids new to driving are decent within a year.

Also, no one is saying they are "genetically destined" to be bad drivers. Genetically distended means all Asians are born to be bad drivers no matter what. You're massively exaggerating and avoiding the real words which are statisticall worse or in general worse drivers.
Woah! I'm not saying that Asians are bad drivers. I'm saying this is where the stereotype came from. It's hardly a justification of the stereotype.
