My point is Arpaio is not a good guy as Trump claims who deserved a pardon. He's a sociopath who should spend the rest of his miserable life behind bars.

He may even use it on himself somewhere down the road. I guess that's masturbation.
How long until he starts playing with his nuclear toys?

Its your opinion he is a sociopath who deserves such. The legal system of the US has only decided that he is a guy guilty of the misdemeanor crime of ignoring a fed judge , and that is what he was pardoned on.

He likely would not have done any time , and even if given time Trump could have pardoned him then, so this was a mistake by Trump, in timing if nothing else. Unless Trump has political plans for him that would be prevented by a conviction, and so he just decided to go ahead without learning about any jail time.

"In brief summary, in December 2011 , still well prior to the trial , this Court entered a preliminary injunction prohibiting the Defendants from enforcing immigration law or from detaining persons they believed to be in the country without authorization but against whom they had no state charges. It also ordered that the mere fact that someone was in the country without authorization did not provide , without more facts, reasonable suspicion or probable cause to believe that such a person had violated state law".

In other words, even if you know you have an illegal alien, you cant detain him unless he has committed a state crime. That's the feds job, if they feel like doing it. No charges of casting too wide a net, harassing every Latino on the street, or anything else. Simply, if you find an illegal but he hasn't committed a state crime, you cant detain him.

Did Joe and his dept do other stuff? Apparently . But this pardon is for this charge described above.

The BS was that he harassed every Latino on the street. That's just make up pro-illegal nonsense.

Apparently, it is unconstitutional to do this, racial profiling and all. Who knew?

Arpaio said he didn't have to follow the Constitution or the courts.

Trump approved of this and pardoned him.

"Undocumented"? Um no, illegal aliens.

If the feds are doing their job properly, then this guy doesn't have to take up the slack. The court order remanding his case to a different judge for prosecution for defying the order even notes that ICE federal agents had refused to accept known illegal aliens he brought them, so he started taking them to Border Patrol agents instead.

In other words, an entire fed agency given the duty of securing the borders was basically refusing to do its job. So the sheriff did.
Exactly. They are still refusing to do it. A pretty hypocritical position out of most who defend Trump here.

Pardoning Arpaio is going to do nothing about solving the problem. It doesn't matter it would seem, Trump poked people in the eye and that's what is important.

you are correct on this charge- not on the character of the man- for that I find him appaling and definitely NOT a patriot, as he was in charge of enforcing the laws did NOT because it did NOT fit his agenda, Therefore can NOT support him and wonder why anyone does- I support the law the constitution and those that follow it- I also like people who MAN UP when they blow it and don't hide like little children--

"The word “abusive” isn’t enough. Joe Arpaio’s actions over the course of his time in office were monstrous and sickening. As Arpaio’s officers were harassing, detaining, and beating citizens and non-citizens alike, with jail employees routinely calling inmates “wetbacks” or leaving them to die on the floor, Arpaio let hundreds of serious sexual abuse cases go uninvestigated, in one case resulting in a child being continually raped."

Racism has nothing to do with this issue by Arpaio or Trump. Is that all you lefties have is the race card day in and day out?

This man belongs in jail.
And yet, They were only able to pin him with contempt. Either our justice system is broke or maybe the accusations are unfounded.
