With that in mind, if that was so heartfelt, shouldn't Texas be turning down all federal aid pertaining to Hurricane Harvey? They were so sure they had no need of outside help.
Yes this would be genius. Texas citizens and corporations sends 100's of billions in tax revenue to the federal government, it shouldnt get any money back to deal with a natural disaster

They pay Federal taxes. It's the money of the residents of Texas.
The idea is to get rid of paying into the system and let the states handle it on their own. Less waste that way.

Except Texas Republicans voted AGAINST aid for Hurricane Sandy in the Northeast. Texas should be hammered hard for this. They only care about themselves.
