Not long ago, there was that agitation for secession making headlines.

With that in mind, if that was so heartfelt, shouldn't Texas be turning down all federal aid pertaining to Hurricane Harvey? They were so sure they had no need of outside help.

Yes this would be genius. Texas citizens and corporations sends 100's of billions in tax revenue to the federal government, it shouldnt get any money back to deal with a natural disaster

They pay Federal taxes. It's the money of the residents of Texas.
The idea is to get rid of paying into the system and let the states handle it on their own. Less waste that way.

But if they want to stop forking over, then it should give them pause to see they're going to be taking more than their "fair share."

Fake news. I live in Texas, and I would support secession if it were an option. I wish this were true, but this "agitation" didn't happen.

Shouldn't liberals who all claim to be so good, kind and willing to spend any amount of (other peoples) money to help someone in need be doing all they can to help Texas? Oh, that's right, Texas didn't vote for Shillary or Obama so they should be exiled.

Except Texas Republicans voted AGAINST aid for Hurricane Sandy in the Northeast. Texas should be hammered hard for this. They only care about themselves.
