there aren't enough head smack emoticons in the world for this one. Why bother to run for Senate when you think that you are above the law anyway?

After a year in which he was voted out of office, convicted of criminal contempt for racial discrimination, and presidentially pardoned, 85-year-old ex-sheriff Joe Arpaio is considering running for Senate.

The former sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona — who was spared from a possible jail sentence on Friday — told the Washington Examiner “the door is open” to challenge Arizona Senator Jeff Flake. “I’m sure getting a lot of people around the state asking me,” Arpaio claimed.

Why doesn't he go out and prove that he can make a buck without the government teet first?

If Arpaio were to run, it would be the ultimate test of how strong the Hispanic vote is in Arizona. If Joe doesn't get the brown vote out en masse, nothing could.

If Ward or Arpaio beat Flake in the primary, AZ will have a dem senator in 2019. Arizona has had a belly full of Arpaio, in particular. He lost by double digits in Republican Maricopa County. He would lose by a landslide in a state wide vote where Tucson and Flagstaff and the reservations weigh in.

He can't even stay out of trouble without government assistance.

Arizonans aren't too bright to begin with, but I can't see us voting in a man that'll be 92 when his first senate term ends.

To boot, Arpaio isn't popular in this state. You folks seem to forget that. Outside of Maricopa County, his act wore thin years ago. Remember, he lost his last election folks.

Too old for jail but not too old to run for the senate, I guess.
I love Sheriff Joe but why would he even want to be part of the Do Nothing Club?
