At least he was trying and the Paris Accord was the first step. That dumbass Trump is still denying that climate change exists and is using Harvey as a photo op and tweet opportunity.

I think the "Dumb Ass Liberals" do not realize Hurricanes goes in cycles and we were do for one. Its about 10-12 years. There is years we do not heavy storms except a Tropical storm.

The Paris Agreement would not benefit the US since we have many programs that has been implemented over the years. I am Glade the US is not going to Pay the UN 12B dollars. Which the US may leave,

Chasing after Hurricanes in anther life one pick these calls from Nature!

so there is that.

The real issue here isn't "climate change" we can debate that and have some degree of respect for the various positons (so long as the believers don't call skeptics "deniers")

BUT... This thread isn't that. THIS thread is about Harvey and how it was soooo strong because of climate change. IN fact the OP's opening line is clear, climate change made Harvey worse.

This thread is about a verifiably unscientific claim made in the name of science. and I have already pointed out the actual factual PHYSICS related to the subject yet nobody even takes notice. The physics of hurricanes is absolutely clear there is no trend. period.

Have you ever considered taking a quick gander at what you've written before posting? Calling other people "dumb ass" while "communicating" as horribly as you do is the definition of "irony."

The sea temperature is 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit over average compared to a 1971 to 2000 baseline.

Let me repeat this:

0.5 degrees FAHRENHEIT.

Any scientist trying to sell this is global warming has been drinking the Al Gore Kool-Aid.

People who think the Harvey was greatly influenced by climate change need to read this blog posting by Cliff Mass (8/31/17) posting:

Cliff Mass Weather and Climate Blog: Global Warming and Hurricane Harvey

Mr. Mass is a meteorologist in the Seattle area - a very liberal and progressive city to say the least. From what I have read his views are are strongly liberal in many areas. He is definitely NOT a climate change denier. But, he is a scientist who knows his stuff regarding weather and climate.

Let's analyze the two key questions:
  • Did global warming juice up Hurricane Harvey, producing unusually heavy precipitation?
  • Did global warming cause the storm to stagnate for days?
Quote:
I could show you a lot more, but bottom line in all this is:
There is no evidence that global warming is influencing Texas coastal precipitation in the long term and little evidence that warmer than normal temperatures had any real impact on the precipitation intensity from this storm.
Quote:
Some of the media stories had all kinds of hand-waving speculations. Such as the jet stream would be weakened and become "lazy" due to global warming. Quite honestly, none of this is supported by observations or models.
Quote:
The bottom line in this analysis is that both observations of the past decades and models looking forward to the future do not suggest that one can explain the heavy rains of Harvey by global warming, and folks that are suggesting it are poorly informing the public and decision makers.
People who believe that climate change caused Harvey or made it significantly worse than it would have been don't have the science to back up those claims. There are certainly good reasons to try and limit mad made climate change. But, deceiving the public is not going to help the cause.

Wait...you mean that "climate change" didn't position those
