First off we do not have the capability to shoot down every incoming missile, and the odds are we never will, that is just a Fact. In a massive attack such as from Russia the world would end for the most Americans as it would for most of the world.
That said, there seems to be something most people forget. EMP. It does not require that NK or any other aggressive Nation build a missile capable of re-entry, if one or two nukes were set off high enough over the Nation the USA would become a third world country instantly and the vast majority of Americans would be dead in a matter of months. An EMP would not take that much sophistication as in firing from thousands of miles to hit a specific target a missile can be launched from a sub (think Iran) or even a cargo ship (NK) from close distances and by the time anyone knew what was happening the damage would already have been done. If done properly the power grid and almost all vehicles would be shut down, think no electrical power, no running water, no food deliveries, no or very little medical care, and no real law enforcement or fire fighters, then then think months and years and there ya have it, Welcome to the Dark Ages. Oh, and the odds are you will never even hear the device going off, but if the power all goes off, your car will not start and your phone is not working you will now know why. Pssst it is not going to come back on for a Loooong time Yes, we would fire back and destroy the attacker but at that point the damage would already been done. So no need to actually nuke US cities, just trip the switch for a long time and the rest takes care of itself. FYI, we are not the only people to have thought up this idea along with others that would destroy or infrastructure, many countries have thought this one out and several have actively perused the possibilities. So do not think we are safe because we may be able to shoot down some incoming ICBM's, they are not the only or even worst case scenarios.
Have a Great Day
So it would appear that Trump is now settled to accept a nuclear north korea...
Another "red line".
Yeah, it appears that Trump is going to do nothing. So much for him being a "tough guy".
Trump went on and on about Obama not doing enough about NK and what has Trump accomplished in that regard?
In the 7 short months of the Trump Presidency, this is the most NK long-range missiles launched EVER - more than during the ENTIRE Presidencies of ALL other U.S. Presidents COMBINED

I am just wondering if NK fired a missile over the United States as it did over Japan yesterday would be also
DO NOTHING??
I think it's past time to limber one of our interceptors. Japan has them, and I think they should have deployed a battery or two.
Baby Kim chose his target very deliberately. He's not going to risk one of his new toys by aiming it in our direction. Take that to the bank.
He chose Japan because it's the only nation in the region that does not have an army that's capable of launching an offensive move against him. It's the safest target there is for him at the moment, and it's the only one he thinks he can threaten with no consequence.
But Japan has every piece of our most sophisticated defensive hardware that exists, and I think it's high time to blow up one of his missiles in mid-flight. But that's Japan's fight, not ours. Jon Un isn't going to mess with us willy-nilly. He's not that crazy.

Useless.

And uh, how do you suppose NK got into this situation in the first place?
It's a tough problem - but it was a TOUGH problem for Obama as well, when CANDIDATE TRUMP was complaining about Obama's inability to resolve the problem. Turns out now that TRUMP can't fix it EITHER.
That's my whole point.
Turns out Trump is not doing any better than Obama did. Gee, what a surprise.
As to MY solution. The only real solution is to threaten to remove China's "Most Favored" trade status unless they COMPLETELY isolate NK (it's either favorable trade with NK or US - not BOTH). THAT would get China's attention. There is a price though - the U.S. economy (especially consumers) would be badly hurt as well That's probably the ONLY solution however.
Of course that means that Trump might have to find somewhere else to manufacture his Trump-labeled products. Wait! Here's a radical idea - how 'bout here in the old U.S of A. - you know? Bring back manufacturing here to AMERICA? Make America GREAT again?
Naw - he'll never go for that.

Your post: useless. Just like Obama was.
And Bush, and Clinton, and Bush, and Reagan (NK began developing it's nuclear technology during the Reagan years - what did HE do about it?).
