How does the Alt Left feel about movies that depict slavery?

There's a few problems with this...

1) not everyone on the left identities with the far left extremists

2) far left extremists aren't "alt left" (because alt-left doesn't actually refer to anything)

3) for your logic to be true, there couldn't be anything about "all the left" identifying with anything, since 'alt' would imply an alternative

4) leaving the Democratic party does not mean you stop being a liberal; I'm not less liberal as an Independent than I was as a Democrat; I'm just not a registered Democrat

I'm responding more broadly to this sensationalist slippery-slope argument that makes up every other thread. No, liberals arn't going to destroy history or whatever Fox News is telling them.

The question is in today's climate of hate, misunderstanding and ignorance I wonder how a Hollywood movie like "Django Unchained" or the 2013 Academy Award winning "12 years a slave".

There was also the TV miniseries "Roots" which was remade last year.

These movies and TV shows depicted slaves and their real life struggles to the forefront of American audiences thoughts yet what they depict is exactly what the Alt Left seems to be trying to "clean up" from our History.


I wonder in todays climate where race wars are brewing if Hollywood would take on another movie about slaves and if the Alt left would support it or burn down the theatres that dare to show it?

Have no idea who the 'alt-left' is (if you could tell us, please do), but these films are art. They tell the story of what happened to people (slaves). Why would anyone want to burn down the theaters that show films that depict the truth through stories?
