Three months after the highly-publicized scandal, however, Griffin says she is no longer friends with her longtime CNN co-host Anderson Cooper and says several of her celebrity friends comforted her privately during the drama but declined to defend her on the record when contacted by The Cut.

Now Griffin is looking ahead and says she wants to organize a First Amendment concert with the ACLU; she’s planning a documentary film of her upcoming international tour, and will trash Trump on foreign soil as opposed to performing U.S. shows because “she’s still too worried about her physical safety to tour America,” The Cut reports.

“Comedians talk about what their audience is faced with every day, we try to relate to our audience,” she says. “I’m obsessed with politics. I always have been, and now, with Trump, many people are obsessed with politics, so that’s going to be a big part of my act.”

Griffin had initially released an apology video shortly after the controversy over the photo began in earnest, in which she explained that she had made a mistake and that her joke had gone too far. According to The Cut, it was longtime Trump nemesis Rosie O’Donnell who convinced the comedian to issue the apology, after the photo drew widespread criticism from both sides of the political aisle.

But the apologies appeared to end there; Griffin appeared on Australian morning show Sunrise Monday to slam President Trump and his voters.

The 56-year-old got into a war of words with Sam Armytage while promoting her upcoming stand-up tour. When asked if the photo went too far below the belt, Griffin told the morning show host “you’re full of crap.”

“Stop this. You know this. Stop acting like my little picture is more important than talking about the actual atrocities that the President of the United States is committing,” Griffin said.

No sympathy....she made her bed....now she must lie in it.
Why anyone cares what these "celebrities" say is beyond me.

She sure is a contradiction to the old adage "don't judge a book by its cover".

Ugly old b/witch on the outside and ugly old b/witch on the inside too!

I find it incredible that people actually pay good money to go to her shows; they must be pretty twisted and ugly too.

Yes, people made way too big a deal about this, but she apologized for it and said she went too far.

Does this mean she didn't mean her apology? If so, I would have respected her more if she had just said, "it's a joke, lighten up" from the start.

She is a master at getting headlines for herself. It's part of her act, no more no less. She's beyond thrilled for all the publicity and the more she can talk about it the better.

Prediction: She will do more stupid/offensive stuff, act irritated when people call her on it, unfriend/insult/cry to other celebrities and then do an act about it, touring across the country raking in the money.

It's her way to make a living. That's all. If all of a sudden popular opinion was that the US was completely in love with Trump, she would mail herself in a cake and pop out like stripper, sing Happy Birthday a la Marilyn and film it all for a Very Special Trump program.

About her photo being far less important than what the President of the US actually does and says? Obviously.
