Kasich reminds me of Jeb Bush and John McCain.....bitter and jealous losers with personal vendettas. Kasich's constant denigration of the President just makes him look petty.

That's the problem with most liberals now, but not all of course. They see themselves as middle of the road and even as centrists but in reality, they are pretty far left. John Kennedy would probably turn in his grave if he saw how ultra liberal the mainstream democrat party has become and the news media that support them.

You cons have some odd ideas.
And whose main issue was getting the debt under control, who wanted austerity, and who wanted to cut Social Security and welfare - unlike Trump.

He would have been eaten alive as a Democrat.

Despite being a moderate social conservative, he's still a social conservative. In the current climate of the Democratic party, he'd have less success that Jim Webb or that dead guy who ran (was it Chaffee?).

But being a liberal on some issues and a conservative on others shouldn't be used against a candidate. It used to be quite normal for politicians to openly show willingness for compromise. Reagan, for example, agreed that amnesty for illegal immigrants is sometimes a good idea.

Do you think the presidents constant denigration of people who disagree with him makes him look petty?

Kasich could not have run as a Dem.

OTOH Gary Johnson could have run as a Dem and could have gotten some real support.

Gary Johnson isn't a political hack like most are in the two parties. The left blew their shot by screwing Sanders. <<rigged

I voted for Johnson myself.

Kasich is an ambitious gentleman. He will do or say anything (within the normal bounds of reason) to get his shot. He's looking at Trump and thinking "I am 10X the man he is" and...of course, he is correct. I am 10X the man Trump is and so are tens of millions of other Americans.

That's the thing about the Trump and GW Era. It pretty much shows that any con man or dufus can be POTUS...and, no matter what, 30-40% (low end) of the country will cheer.

This is why Trump loves the uneducated. Kasich doesn't mind them either...

Absolutely. Trump's bombastic style of speaking makes me cringe sometimes. But, Trump has never claimed to be a purveyor of the high road in any way, unlike Kasich.

But Kennedy was wrong on social issues. If he was alive today, he should have well be "eaten alive" just like any other Democrat or Republican who is wrong on social issues.
