Everyone who is honest with themsleves knows that the left had become completely unhinged.

-The fantaical attempt to find "Nazis" and fight against statues rather than deal with the real root causes of social problems is more Mcarthyism than Mcarthyism ever was.
-The violence of "Antifa," who are really just fascists themselves, is turning off even other leftsits.
-The press is openly lying daily about a scandal which is pure fiction, and a CNN producer was caught on film admitting as much.
-Wikileaks reavealed that the Democratic party has degenerated into a criminal enterprise, nad confirmed open collusion between the DNC and the press, for which Donna Brazil and Debbbie Wasserman Shultz resigned from their posts.
-Normailzation of images of violence against the president and his family are being normalized, and this when there was already an assassination attampt against Trump, and a crazed socialist who the majority whip and four others.
-Every corner we look, we are seeing the left turning on itself.

Why? Because peak liberalism came and went. And they know it.

To understand what is going on, we must understand history. Every revolution goes through four phases:

1. Initial revolution/moderate phase
2. Radicalization/reign of terror
3. Thermidor-the revolution hits a wall and a tyrant is established to right the ship
4. Restoration/new normal

All revoultions go through some form of these phases, including the French, Russian, and to some degree American. Thermidor, named after the month of "July" in which the peole turned against Robespierre, marks the time when the revolution becomes too ridiculous and starts to roll back.

The sixties saw a revolution in our country, and yes, it was a neccesary one in terms of ending racism and establishing equality for women. But it radicalized quickly, that degeneration lasted a long tme, and now we have one political party that openly advocates for law-breaking criminals to enter our country, denounces concerned citizens as racist, employess violence and election fraud, and cares more about what bathrooms men who dress as women get to use than they do about the economic well-being of citizens.

But, on every issue, the left has seen/is seeing a thermidor.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION- down 64% due to enforcement and structural rollback.

ABORTION- Long protected by the Supreme Court on a dodgy legal decision, the Republicans have, in my lifetime, passed two very meaningful and wildly popular addendums in Lacy's Law and the ban on partial-birth abortion. Trump won openly saying that he wants to roll back abortion. The cutlure is changing, and there will be more changes.

RACE RELATIONS- Affirmative action is now being re-fought with Asians on the side of whites. Affirmative action is doomed in the long term.

SOCIALISM- In terms of healthcare, the left has only managed one very unpopular and patchwork healthcare bill which is dying of its own weight. There will NEVER be universal healthcare in this country, as the kind of supermajorities to create it can't exist, Obamacare is failing, and Socialism is struggling worldwide. With massive debt and deficit in this country, our days of "austerity" are coming.

"WOMEN'S RIGHTS"- A recent poll showed that 56% of millennials, including females, want the country to go back to a culture where men are the primary or sole breadwinner of the household an women have more time to spend with the children.

THE FREE PRESS- have so openly absued their postiion that their approval numbers are lower than government's. No one trusts them, and Nick at Night gets higer ratings than CNN. Their moral authority is gone, never to return, and in the internet era, they really aren't neccesary any longer.

RACE RELATIONS- An absolute fiasco which is almost not describable, but more and more whites, Asians, Hispanics and even blacks are rejecting the leftist identity polititics of divison. The Republicans did very well with key minorties in the "red tide" midterm elections, and even Trump did better with minorities than McCain or Romeny.

GAY RIGHTS- Gay, marraige is legal, which I, by the way, think is a good thing. But we are already seeing the sensible reaction as the Supreme Court has agreed to re-hear the wedding cake case. The issue now is going to be religious rights in balance with gay rights...and we are already seeing the rollback of this concern with crossdressers.

POLITICS- the Republicans own the presidency, the Senate, will expand the Senate majority next time out, have owned the House for all but two of the last 23 years, have twice as many governorships and more than twice as many state legislatures. We will be stacking the Supreme Court for generations.

And on and on. We could go down the line on every issue, but why bother? We all know the truth. The radicalization of this country is done. We are now going to come to a new normal where we once again acknowledge that you don't give up your civil rights because you happen to be in the majority.

My favorite part in this whole directionless rant is when you say "all revolutions go through these four [entirely unexplained] phases" then roll that statement back before you even finish the sentence by saying "and to some degree, even the American revolution."

Do you know what that means? It means that not every revolution goes through those 4 phases.

Which was obvious. You made that up to sound intellectual in order to give the illusion that this rant carried weight.

You basically said nothing the entire time. You throw around terms like "leftist" and "liberal" and "socialist" as if they all refer to the same thing, which they don't. It's why there are different words for them (who could have guessed?? ).

The "left" isn't a unified body or an ideology. The Democratic party is in bad shape (so too is the Republican party) because they've spread themselves too thin, to the point where their message seems mostly unclear. I'd argue this is inevitable in a two party system; the two parties basically have to act as catch alls for "the left and the right" (which are horrendously vaguely defined and mostly misunderstood by everyone), which basically waters them down to nothing. They stand for very little, and at this point, are both just opposition parties to the other party.

The post is above you. It is a typical thing with leftists. If you try to elevate the dialog they dismiss it as "rant." If you try to introduce complex ideas they pretend that it doesn't mean anything. That is why our schools are turning out brainwashed snowflakes with degrees in black studies, sociology, women's studies and modern art who are not qualified to do anything but cry and protest.

That is all right. You have your 90% bull**** news network to tell you what you want to hear, and it takes no intellecitual investment to listen to them.

Regardless, what I have said is exactly right, and whether you learn anything or not, in the long run, you are going to be made to see.

I really have got to know where "the left is unhinged" came from.

I just Googled it. Hannity?

It's really interesting how some sort of phrase without any logic whatsoever can become so wildly popular.

Plenty of people can behave in an "unhinged" manner. I don't think their politics is entirely the cause.

Serious question, though. Was it Hannity?

Since I don't watch Hannity, I have no idea. I thought it was more or less original. There is always a degree of zeitgiest or convergent evolution.

The evidence of their having become unhinged has already been stated: the assassination attempts, the images of violence and bloodshed, the rioting and beatings, the abrogation of freedom of speech, the proven collusion between the DNC and the media, the endless focus on meaningless pseudo-issues that have lost you everything that you can lose, and on and on. It is kind of sad that there are still people strongly in denial, but it is what it is.

I am not going to spend too much time answering a series of snarky replies. I am trying to introduce a very prominent historical theory here: take it or leave it.

This post has nothing to do with being oppressed. If black men aren't oppressed, as you alt-right claim time and time again, then you DEFINITELY are not oppressed. You just listed things that, at worst, mildly inconvenience you.

Let's roll with white males are oppressed across the country. Why do such a huge number of white men think the opposite of you? In fact, there are more white men who don't feel oppressed than you do.

Since the vast majority of what you claimed was nothing more than right-wing claptrap I will Leave it, as will the majority of Americans. Enjoy your fantasy while it lasts

Too long, didn't read, more right-wing nonsense.

I did like the OP's hilarious claim that Nazis are basically hard to find. Tell that to the folks in Charlottesville. Tell that to the family of that woman who was murdered by one of those "non-existent" Nazis.

Peak Conservatism is more like it, particularly once demographic changes catch up with the far-right. They have their Idiot in Chief, and now they are still looking to blame "the left" for everything even though they control the entire government and - as we progressives expected - are still too stupid and hung up on petty bigotry and chest-beating to do anything useful. Give it a few years and after they right-wash history, it'll somehow be "Obama's fault" that President Dump failed to accomplish anything except new standards in sleaze, bigotry, and Twitter post counts.

Texas - see the young men all sizes and shapes shoulder to shoulder or boat to boat - doing one thing together- they were sick of politics and they are now more sick of it having gone the opposite way with mr T. wait and watch
