Protest has a very legitimate purpose in our democracy, and has a history of enacting change at the legislative level.

Protesting a legit decision to enforce the existing laws is different than protesting for the law to be changed. Trump has challenged Congress to change the laws, and put their feet to the fire with the 6 month deadline, but the protesters seem to want the status quo to remain, where illegals are illegal but we don't enforce the laws that make them illegal.

So again, why not work to change the laws rather than protesting the government deciding to enforce existing laws that have previously been ignored? There are a lot of ways to let Congress know. Insisting that they not enforce the law has nothing to do with working to change it so there is nothing to enforce.

I though a while back it was a sure thing that he would end the program, but now I see an entirely different scenario
.I really think he wants to end it, but knows that would cause more tension than already exist in the country
I think come next Tuesday he is going to offer a compromise.

He will announce the program will continue on one condition, and that is , the parents who brought these children here illegally must return to their own country, and apply for citizenship, just like all the legal immigrants did.
If they refuse, daca is over.
Let's see if this is what the President has in mind.
For the ones that came here without parent or guardian, they would have to return to their country, regardless

Bob.

Congress wouldn't do it, when the Senate was controlled by Democrats.
You think being held accountable to the voters, is going to have an effect in 2018, over this vote?
Remembering, the support Trump had over ending this and all illegal alien entry and stay, from all countries.
2018 is going to be interesting, knowing how Trump won it all, with the trend of Socialism being rejected.

So because others said it its OK? Sounds like great 4 year old logic.

Simple point is that this is not about free speech.

Obama praised GWB for staying out of things, he admonished pre-inauguration Trump for getting involved in things. NONE of that has anything to do with what other people in this thread have said, or whether or not I want to listen to Obama.

Numerous times he praised GWB for refraining from doing exactly what he himself is doing now.

Do you have some context or links to these statements? Are you making an apples-to-apples comparison?

Ex POTUS's usually refrain from commenting on current POTUS's and their decisions. Its a great policy. I voted for Obama twice, and only voted for GWB once ( first term). But I have always admired the way GWB has conducted himself post POTUS. Obama should learn a lesson from him. Hopefully Obama doesn't become another Jimmy Carter giving out his unwanted opinion every time something comes up he doesn't like.

OK, so it sounds like you can't deny that this is a double standard with what Obama is doing. Good luck with the roof, whatever that meant.
