What this exposes is a lack of leadership in Washington and that even though Republicans have complete control of the government, they don't know how to govern. Republicans have blocked every comprehensive immigration plan but now Trump has drop it in their laps. Democrats need to make some noise but let the majority lead.
Did I miss the Breaking News that McConnell had removed the 60 vote Rule to advance Legislation in the Senate? Obama had a "filibuster proof" Senate - BUT President Trump does not have that.
Without a Party holding Control of the House AND 60 votes in the Senate + the Oval Office .... There is NO "complete control" of the Government.

No, I agree with Obama that Americans value humane treatment of other humans, and that uprooting young people that have spent almost their entire lives in the United States, who don't even remember the country they were born in, and sending them to live in a country they don't know, don't have any bonds to, is inhumane. Their presence doesn't rob any American children of their rights.
So ..... you DO agree that the Rule of Law, the Separation of Powers, the Constitution actually is meaningless and should be just thrown out IF a President decides it's "inhumane" or I guess for any other reason that a sitting President decides that HE knows better than the Constitution -- and that HE can Nullify a Law, just because he wants to.
This is how far this Nation has sunk - Educated people are actually arguing that ANY President can Nullify a Standing Law, duly passed by Congress and signed by a sitting President ......
Just because HE feels like it. Trust me - we don't want to go there. This is what Dictators & Totalitarians do.
We have a Constitution and it clearly lays out the process - EVERY President takes an Oath to preserve that.
Some just don't mean it...... and now we know. Some people are now arguing that the Constitution, Separations of Powers, Congressional Authority to pass Laws and FUND laws is now meaningless IF a sitting President decides they are "inhumane" or maybe that HE just doesn't agree with a Law.

He (Obama) absolutely has the right to say anything he wants - BUT, does he have a right to Nullify US Law just because HE disagrees with it? Does he have the right to put all these Illegal Aliens into a Federal Data Base (and charge them over $200 a year to do so - KNOWING that what he was doing was Un-Constitutional?
Knowing he was breaking the OATH of Office he took to protect and follow the Constitution???
IF Congress doesn't get their act together and pass some major reforms in Immigrations - then ANY deportations of these kids is on Obama's Shoulders ..... no wonder he is "upset".

except that many items on Trump's supposed agenda can be shoehorned in via budget reconciliation with 50 votes and Pence being tie-breaker. However, Cheeto Jesus lacks any ability or desire to actually do the hard work of governing and wrangle the legislature alongside party leadership; thus the giant nothing-burger of a legislative legacy he enjoys presently.
But did Obama come into office and start signing executive orders as fast as he could to reverse everything and anything Bush did OUT OF SPITE, not caring who gets hurt, if it assuages Trump's frail ego?

Obama did NOT sign an Executive Order for DACA.
Janet Napolitana issued a MEMO to Immigration with the new "policy" (under Obama's private orders to her) - that MEMO Nullified duly passed Immigration Law and was Un-Constitutional.
President Trump did NOT sign any Executive Order to reverse an Obama Executive Order for DACA -- because that Obama Executive Order DID NOT EXIST. He KNEW it was illegal and even stated that the President of the United States did NOT have the Authority to just direct Immigration to not deport the "Dreamers" - and then he did it anyway because Obama thought HE was above the Law. He was Wrong and the Federal Courts, all the way to the US Supreme Court disagreed with him ........as HE always knew they would.
DACA DACA was formally initiated by a policy memorandum sent from Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano to the heads of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The memo formally directed them to exercise their enforcement discretion on behalf of individuals who met the requirements.
Obama made the announcement of his new "policy" (NOT Law or Executive Order) in June of 2012 .... while running for Re-Election. Janet Napolitano resigned in 2013 - she is no dummy, she knew this was Un-Constitutional and the Lawsuits would begin soon.
Perhaps you should read the DACA legislation. Violent felons aren't allowed to become Dreamers.
Dreamers are people just like you and I. They grew up in the United States. They speak English. They went to public schools. They watched TV, they listened to the radio. They know who the Kardashians are, and they either love or hate the Dallas Cowboys. They probably don't know the history of the country they were born in, they don't know the culture of that country. It is cruel and inhumane to tear them away from the only country they know, and ship them to a place where they are strangers.
