Republicans in congress are speaking out against Trump's DACA decision. Don't try to spin this as "only leftist". Even Trump said he might flip on the decision.
With everything going on, one must wonder why Trump wants to focus on expelling daca-babies. Strange priorities.
Ten states gave him till Sept 5th to change or they were filing a Federal lawsuit. They were going to include other things in the issue that Obama had done. All law scholars I've seen including Obama knew DACA (and DAPA) was against current law and would be overturned.
Trumps hand was forced due the possibility of defending a lawsuit that everyone knew they would lose.
Obama made this an issue. He only had to ignore enforcing the law like the last 3-4 Presidents. Obama used it to fit his Political agenda.
Especially at these major corporations like Apple and Microsoft. They have MORE than enough applicants.
You'd think they would make a huge effort to hire Minority unemployed US citizens. There are probably plenty of young Black college students who would love to work in the Valley.
One thing nobody is talking about is exactly what the body count could/will be if these "Dreamers" are legalized in the usual sloppy way.
It's not just the Dreamers, ohhhh no. They could very well be set up to bring their whole extended family in via sponsorship once they're legal INCLUDING the illegal parents that brought them here ILLEGALLY to begin with.
Just think of how many potential millions of people THAT is...

Republican leaders of Congress, House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., have also spoken out against ending DACA[/i].
If this is true, they should have no problem working with Democrats to get a law passed.
I'm actually back in Louisiana now, but to your point, as an example of assimilation, I would say the Cajuns in South Louisiana have assimilated into American culture despite their French background. Many people are proud of their partial French ancestry, but they don't wave the French flag and speak English fluently without a French accent (the Cajun accent which is less common than before is different than actual French accents). The people of Italian American descent also do not speak with an Italian accent.....
I am of Chinese descent but was born in America and and culturally assimilated. if I have any accent at all it would be slightly Southern.
So you are saying basically that these Mexicans in LA do not assimilate well into American culture.
I think the US could take a lesson from Canada and encourage citizenship. They make a big deal about their "New Canadians". As far as the flags of other countries, I've seen Italians waving Italian flags on Columbus Day; I've seen people of Swedish ancestry having a Swedish flag somewhere in the house, etc. Someone near me has a huge Union Jack on permanently on their house. Living somewhere that has a large Hispanic population, the accent does go away by the second generation in the US.
