They aren't permanent residents or immigrants. They wish they were both which is the entire reason they are protesting and demanding "immigration reform" (read: amnesty). Illegal aliens can be deported at any time, they just haven't been caught. Why be so pedantic. lol.
"In a press conference yesterday, Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC), James Lankford (R-OK), and Orrin Hatch (R-UT) introduced the SUCCEED Act, which would grant amnesty to several million illegal aliens. (Breitbart, Sept. 24, 2017) While text of the bill is not yet available, talking points provided by the pro-amnesty lawmakers reveal that the bill will offer a path to citizenship to more than 2.5 million illegal aliens who gain jobs, university spaces, and military slots sought by American citizens and legal immigrants."
There is no possible way that the DACA kids are going to either self-deport, or be deported.
Before anyone rambles and rants about immigration policy, they first need to ask the question, "Why does immigration exist in the first place?"
Immigration was never about "doing good" for the people. Not here, and not anywhere else. It was about bringing in cheap labor, as well as to increase the total population(IE laborers, consumers, etc), as to maximize economic-growth.
Deporting millions of immigrants would benefit the vast-majority of American citizens, sure. But it would hurt the economy. Thus it will NEVER happen.
You're talking about kicking millions of consumers out of the country. These people rent millions of apartments and homes, and are the primary drivers of many local economies. In some parts of major cities, the majority of residents are illegal immigrants. Large swaths of major cities would be emptied out.
The costs of many goods and services would be driven up, while driving up the cost of business across the board. Making American business less-competitive internationally. Cheap migrant labor is a massive subsidy to California's agriculture, which would become far far far less profitable without it.
The question asked in the title, is not the same as the poll question. The title asks WILL they go. The poll question asks SHOULD they go. These two questions are completely unrelated.
It is like asking, SHOULD there be world peace? Or asking WILL there be world peace? What does one have to do with the other?

The problem(s) Mexico has and the solutions to them have little to do with gun ownership in Mexico, except that guns are easily had on the black market in Mexico, if you've got the money to buy them, and of course the drug gangs are heavily armed. That is certainly part of the problem. That and law enforcement agencies in Mexico have a hard time dealing with the drug cartels themselves. Citizens are not exactly wanting to get into that cross-fire as if they can better fight the bad guys.
Similarly I wonder if we can get real without all this rhetoric about what we "owe" to people of other countries. Of course we don't "owe" anyone anything in these regards! This issue is not one of settling debts. "Entitled attitudes" is another good one. Like we're speaking different languages here...
Let's not forget most of the LE departments are riddled with corruption and Cartel paid members (just like the government) so they're useless.
So, a compromise: Amnesty, in exchange for border security; border security, in exchange for amnesty! Sounds fair to me, but some folk wanted 'our way or the highway'.......!
So if someone breaks into your house and steals all your electronics and jewelry, and the police catch them, you're OK with the "compromise" of letting them keep all your stuff and not go to jail, so long as they agree you can fix the window they broke and install an alarm system?
Illegal aliens aren't "immigrants", first off. Just what are these jobs that Americans don't want for a fair wage and who do you think were doing them before millions of cheap illegals flooded our border? Burger flipper jobs? I see plenty of our American youth doing those jobs. Funny, at McDonalds I saw an e-verify sign and not one worker was Hispanic or apparently Mexican either.
Major fast food chains are not where you will more likely encounter illegals. They're all generally Americans one way or another and/or legal to work there. Illegals prefer less public exposure and/or where eVerify is less likely to be used.
Either way, must be where you live. I can't go to a fast food place and find other than a majority of what I assume are Hispanic Americans, generally bi-lingual. They all look like people to me in any case, one way or another, and all I want is something to eat...

I appreciate this notion about how it might help to know what we are talking about. Warmer, but not quite...
Perhaps a refresher is in order:
Immigration to the United States is based upon the following principles: the reunification of families, admitting immigrants with skills that are valuable to the U.S. economy, protecting refugees, and promoting diversity.
So if someone breaks into your house and steals all your electronics and jewelry, and the police catch them, you're OK with the "compromise" of letting them keep all your stuff and not go to jail, so long as they agree you can fix the window they broke and install an alarm system?
This analogy has got to be the WORST one I have read in this forum yet! Just horrible in just about every way!
According to other recent reports, two-thirds of Border Patrol applicants failed the polygraph test; a somewhat higher percentage (40 percent) passed previously...CBP data show a 50 percent Border Patrol candidate failure rate on the written test, 15 percent failure before the oral hiring board, 25 percent medical failure test, 15 percent failure on the physical fitness test, and 56 percent failure on the background check. over the last 10 years almost 200 employees and contract workers of the Department of Homeland Security have taken nearly $15 million in bribes while being paid to protect the nation’s borders and enforce immigration laws. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/28/u...s.html?mcubz=0
