L.A. County homelessness jumps a 'staggering' 23% as need far outpaces housing, new count shows - LA Times

Amazing, how Republican leadership is so successful. It's fantastic that those in Wichita and Kansas are lucky enough to have a Republican mayor, Republican governor complemented with Republican President Trump.

Thanks to Senator Brownback and his legacy of fiscal conservatism and the surplus of housing due to Wichita's pro-business policies they have had a 42% decrease in homelessness.

Can see why Wichita is so successful when it comes to solving issues compared to Los Angeles

It's no wonder that Los Angeles has such a homeless problem when the liberal Democratic mayor curses like a sailor in public, gives speeches at ivy-league universities and ignores his cities issues except when it has to do with illegal immigrants and celebrities.

Downtown Wichita thanks to conservative leadership and pro-business policies. Looks so clean thanks to the Republican leadership they have at all levels in Wichita and Kansas.

Ca. has other priorities. Homelessness has become so prevalent and acceptable in Ca. They even support denying homes and suitable housing to criminals.

Wichita gets very cold in the winter. LA doesn't. Wow - who would have expected people without homes or money would migrate to climates where they won't freeze to death. Look at that - science!

I'm sorry, but did you just get angry at the "liberal" mayor for cursing? Did you vote for Trump? Do you consider him some sort of "model gentlemen?" Wow!

Meanwhile, Kansas continues to have serious budget problems thanks to "brilliant" Republican leadership:

Plan to fix Kansas budget through school cuts implodes in state Senate | The Kansas City Star

Don't get me wrong - California is no picnic, either in the state budget world - but can we stop the Animal Farm level reasoning "Republicans good, Democrats bad" - it's just shallow and dishonest.

Trumps internal polling on Eric Garcetti must be really bad considering there have been atleast 8 threads on him in the last week.

I live in LA, and yes there is a homeless problem.

Now answer this, would you rather be homeless in LA or Wichita?

If you said LA, you answered correctly.

Even on our coldest night(temps in the low 30s) you're not going to freeze to death.

Not that hard to figure out is it?

Successful Republican leadership is an allusion.. There's no example of successful Republican leadership in modern times.. That said, LA has a huge problem with homelessness but I doubt you even understand why..

Whoever is attempting to spin this into Democrat vs Republican, think about this. I live in Georgia. While Atlanta will obviously lead the state in homeless people, conservative suburban areas have seen a rise in homelessness. I've seen homeless camps out in wooded areas.

There you go. Winter. You don't want to be homeless in Wichita during the winter. California is where many homeless go to get away from winter.

I live in the Atlanta area. While we can get some chilly temperatures during the winter, Atlanta is warmer than alot of other cities during the winter. Atlanta metro has a big homeless population, and not just in Atlanta proper. The suburbs have a sizable homeless population. Marietta,GA (in Cobb County) has a Republican mayor. I can go to Marietta Square and find homeless people. Cobb County ranks 4th in the state of Georgia in terms of the number of homeless, and it's a Republican county.

I must mention that due to the metro area being so sprawly and not that densely population, there is more space. The homelessness is not as perceptible as somewhere like New York.
