Pardons are legal, therefore they are a part of the rule of law. If they weren't, they'd be illegal.

Regardless of what Rahm says - Chicago was pretty much always a 'Trump free' zone.

That's because Trump is too chicken to set foot in Chicago.

Real tough guy.

I noted that pardons were legal but what he pardoned was not.

Must feel strange being a trump voter living in the city. Chicago and Illinois can't afford to lose anymore residents to conservative states like TN and TX

will making Chicago a Trump free zone improve the city>?
So, violations of the Constitution are no problem for Rahm Emanuel, who is also known for the infamous statement, "never let a crisis go to waste."

By this does he also mean he would not accept Federal Government money, if offered? One has to wonder. Sanctuary cities are a violation of the Constitution, and it would seem that the President would be justified in withholding Federal money from any state that violates the terms of the Constitution, the Contract it agreed to when it became a state, namely, to uphold the Constitution and the Laws of the United States. He's sending a pretty clear message that he will not uphold the laws of the United States, or the Constitution, which is the Supreme Law of the Land.

"Improved" is past tense. He said "improve." (To make something better)

My husband voted republican. We are leaving Chicago in the next 2 to 3 years. All the people we know who are conservative are leaving or have left Chicago. All of whom have good jobs, making close to 100k or more.
We are moving to NW Indiana..
If this is what they want..they are doing a good job.

Obviously mayors have no such authority, it's pure grandstanding. But I'd love to see President Trump push back on him with tweet along the lines of "Rahm's impotent ban carries no weight, and he should be thankful for that. Otherwise we'd put a full blockade on all air, rail, road, water traffic in / out of Chicago that are federally controlled."
