And yay! Trump gets to sign a major piece of legislation at last! Who would have thought his first one would be a Democratic bill? I wonder if he'll make a big deal about signing it. That would really be a slap in the face to the GOP.
Trump was calling all his friends with glee after he got one day of good press due to Chuck and Nancy. Remember, "attention" is the Drug of Choice for Trump. He cannot resist it nor delay it.

He was putty in the hands of Chunk and Nancy. You may not like those democRATS, but no one can deny they know the art of politics (counting votes and compromise).

The Republicans don't even go this far. They are up on a stage dancing for Faux News watchers instead of actually making strategy.

Real politicians play chess. Trump plays checkers. The GOP in Congress plays Chutes and Ladders and Monopoly.

Thing is done, and everyone including much of the GOP will have to bear it as best they can.

Of more interest is the fact His Orangeness already has begun "reaching out" to democrats on a host of issues.

It will remain to be seen if DT and or his handlers have the political chops to pull something like this off. What has become clear is that both are and or were fed up with the failure of republican party in Congress to give His Orangeness any major legislation to sign into law several months into his administration.

So if this means cozying up to the Pelosi woman and Chuck Schumer, obviously DT and his handlers are willing to bargain with the devil if it brings them results. By extension both are counting on these "results" giving enough bragging rights/legislative record that will keep DT in office come 2020.

Yes indeed..if reaching out to the Democrats will make Trump more popular..he's going to go for it!

Wow! I envision a scenario where the Democrats ride Trump's coattails to get their agenda done..and the Right is marginalized! This is what the Republicans thought they were doing with Trump..oh the delicious irony!

What possible overreach could Obama (or the DNC) have committed one month into his presidency? The tea party movement started pretty much immediately after his inauguration.

Btw re: the thread topic (figure we better stay on point so this doesn't get closed), I actually thought Trump working with the Democrats to increase the debt ceiling was nice to see.

On February 18, 2009, the one-month old Obama administration announced the Homeowners Affordability and Stability Plan, an economic recovery plan to help home owners avoid foreclosure by refinance mortgages in the wake of the Great Recession.

There you go.

The think is - Pelosi and Chuck are not "the devil" to The Don. They are basically cut from the same Big City Cloth - although, of course, they are much more moral and decent than out POTUS. But these are people who are not foreign to one another - as Trump may be with a Union Dude or a Coal Miner or even an Oil Baron. These are "his people".

I'm not sure Don wants two terms. In fact, I truly think if there were no repercussions he'd walk out the door tomorrow. But he needs his itch scratched (his ego stroked) every day, so he may be unable to stop his addiction.

His "handlers" have come and go so often that they are not really coordinated in anything. Word is the whole WH - and also a lot of departments, are in chaos. Check out what his own WH insiders have to say about him.

It's amazing how the crowd that constantly complains of obstructionism by GOP, now finds one who reaches across the aisle to work with Democrats and finds fault with that.

Do these people ever really know where they stand?

We have real issue as a country and if any president like Regan could reach across the Isle, that is a good day in America!

However Pose an Schumer is still in the "What's in for me Club", so we must be careful with those Dems.
Surely, you are not comparing Trump to Reagan!

We're not complaining about it. We're happy the Democrats were able to pull off what they did.

Perhaps you're confusing "finding fault" with laughing, which is what we're doing. AT the GOP. Because even when they hold all the power, they still can't anything done.

Nancy Pelosi rolled Obama during his first several months in office, and now seems poised to do the same with DT. Yet people consistently undermine and or discount the woman.

Personally never have and wouldn't trust Ms. Pelosi further than I could throw the Big Mo. Certainly wouldn't turn my back on her for a moment.
