So, have any of them received any money yet?
That is the million dollar question. It's too bad that someone making a charitable pledge cannot be taken at his word to follow through, but his past record dictates a healthy amount of skepticism now.

However, I'm thinking that knowing how carefully this will be followed, he will be forced to actually fork over the money. And I do like the charities on that list, so all in all it will be a good thing.

Ah yes. Trump, a man that claims a net worth of over $15B, sends out a million dollars to charity. Trumpers praise him.

Obama, with a net worth of just $40M, donates TWO million to Chicago charities that help underprivileged kids. And Obama caught flak for it

But yes, thank you Trumpers for reminding us that you think Donald is the greatest president of all time. LMAO!

It is indeed very generous of Trump but it does set a dangerous precedent with all the natural disasters hitting the USA (for him).

He meant well, it will do good.

Exactly. Such hatred that they cannot, at least, be glad to see funds going to the victims of Harvey despite who they come from. I would think only Hillary Clinton would be so filled with hatred, but obviously, there are others. Sad that they can't rejoice in the help going to the victims despite how much or where it comes from.

Showing their true colors of hatred sort of takes away from anything they say now and forever.

Oh well, at least that's more than Reagan's 4 percent or Biden's average of less than $400 a year for decades. Considerably less than the Clintons or the GW Bushes (at about 25 and 30 percent each, in that order).
Your math seems fuzzy.

Altogether the Obamas gave away $1.1 million while earning $10.8 million before taxes in the White House.
We know this because the Obamas, unlike Trump, shared their taxes. Not only did they donate 10% of their income, they donated 2.5% of their NET WORTH.

Oh get over yourself.

The guy is worth 10 BILLION dollars and you want me to grovel and rejoice because he gives 25,000 to the Humane Society? Like that cost him anything at all to do? I would have been more impressed had he adopted a dog. Of course that might have actually required him to do something beyond telling someone else to write a check.

The guy is such a scrooge he didn't even know what charities to donate to, he had to ask the press.

Take a look at the philanthropic works of other billionaires and then try and lecture me on how my hatred of Trump is unfounded and mean. Lol.

The dog rescue organization that I foster dogs for is getting multiple transports from areas affected by Harvey and Irma. We are getting 30 dogs this Saturday.

It is unclear whether or not the checks have been received but all the above recipients have been notified.

So the organizations receiving the donations have been named - now let's see what happens.
Good for Trump if he follows through.

Well, let's put things in perspective - Obama donated an average of 5.7 percent of his net income over the years he was President. That's UP from prior to running for President, when the Obama's percentage was lower.

Now - lest I be accused of not playing fair - that's a higher percentage than Reagan's 4 percent, or Palin's 2 percent. Considerably lower than the 25-30 percent of the Clintons, both Bushes, and the McCains. But a WHOLE lot more than Biden's paltry average of $369 a year for decades.
